Enough, we want a client-side user interface!

Even after UI lag fixes in previous updates, UI in FFXIV is still so much less intuitive and responsive compared to many other MMOs out there, and I believe this contributes significantly to the feelings of slow, boring, and sluggishness that people are experiencing when playing FFXIV.

A client-sided UI should be the utmost priority tweak for the UI, before anything else.

I know it will take a long time to do this, and that is exactly why you better start working on it now, SE.

I am also sure that the community will greatly value feedback from the development team on this matter.

Please SE just add a better UI suited for pc gamers. I understand the game was meant to be played on console/Gamepad, but I don't want to play with a gamepad I want to play with my Keyboard and mouse. :l Also why can't I open my inventory by pressing I? Why can't I open my Linkshell menu by pressing L? Why can't I open up my point allotment menu by pressing p? Gear should be g. Configuration should be o and attributes I guess could be C? Please just do it :l

Yoshi-P did hint that they plan to make the UI client side in one of his letters.

Go to Menu, Configuration, Keyboard. You can assign most functions on letters. As a reference, I have Gear on Q, Skills on E, Inventory on I, Journal on J, Point Allotment on P, Emoticons on N, and Loot List on L.

absolutely. Im all for it, even though atm im playing with a controller, and i must say, its not very good with controller either... which is even worse. Both systems are not working properly. Since atm you need a mouse and the controller for some things, which is BS. They need to make UI for PC/keyb/mouse and a proper controller Interface and people should be able to chose. Trying to make one ui for both could work but looking at the system now, they just are not able to make it good so they better make 2 different uis. And... ANYTIME SOON

Actually they said arrow keys will be configurable very soon
