I agree. I hope that the part of the core fixes to the game entail making the UI client-side. The fact that the game in its current state has to check with the server almost any time I press a button really slows things down, creating an overall feeling of lag.

I would cry tears of joy if they confirmed this was in the works.

I have NO issue with the layout of the UI---it's the speed that gets on my nerves. I just want it to be able to keep up with my keyboard input...which I don't think is all that fast, but it doesn't appear to be possible when the server's being checked in on every other click ><

This is a recurring topic on the forums, but I hope this thread gets enough attention to make an appearance on the Dev Tracker, even if it's only for a "We're looking into it." It's infinitely better than silence (*._.')

Until they fix the Alt+Tabing in fullscreen I couldn't care less about a client side UI. beause that would just lead to client side UI mods, and sense I can't Alt+Tab my CPU needs to stay at my normal resolution so I can play "Fullscreen" and work in Photoshop at the same time.

Until I can safefully adjust my fullscreen games resolution I don't need people hounding me about the "In" UI mod that would make my screen unplayable.

A client-sided UI should be the utmost priority tweak for the UI, before anything else.

I know it will take a long time to do this, and that is exactly why you better start working on it now, SE.

I am also sure that the community will greatly value feedback from the development team on this matter.
    Heya!

    Can you teach me?
What advantages will bring a Client-sided UI and what does it that a Server-sided UI doesn't? Just for knowledge, you know...

What Coldfire said. Server-side UI makes opening windows like inventory and synthesis window dependant on your connection to the server. If you end up with a high ping, your UI responses slow down.

Client Side UI means the speed your HD can load the window is how fast its going to respond.

    tl;dr version:

Client Side = Actions are registered immediately and only need a server confirmation for certain aspects, e.g searching or lists display immediately if the server isn't struggling.

Server Side = Actions requires a confirmation from the server as well as an answer. Multiply this by the thousands of others needing said responses. It also produces pretty hefty latency problems and why the stamina and cooldown timers are out of whack.

Server-side UI = You PC only sends input signals to the server and he evaluates it and triggers the action (even for stuff like inventory)
Client-side UI = Actions that are unrelated to the world trigger immediately and other actions are queued (inventory opens right away, maybe even items show if they are cached)
Thus far only character movement is client-side (which explains why other players see you far behind them while you say you're right behind them)

But that bit of lag is my least concern. More annoying is the fact that this lag is eating away actions and that UP and DOWN sometimes browse through the skill panes and sometimes switch through targets :/

    I found this by accident:

Let your friend trade with you. When Trade menu open, let him press [X] Close FFXIV client
After this, you'll know what is the meaning of Server-Side UI

Your Char will freeze on his spot/menu till server kick the d/c person You can't even press [Cancel]

I got this yesterday while I was trade with someone, then he DC ...

Client-Side UI will makes our life easier )

The game is improving, I wish UI will get some revamp
