    FF XIV ARR launcher problems

hi, i write this thread because i have some problems with launcher
i noticed tha the launcher runs using the Internet Explorer, and i think that it is a hard problem for a lot of players
for example, in my case i usually dont want install new windows updates because time ago i had problems with aplications and games by the updates modifies archives and system configurations that make fails in other aplications
when i installed in one of my pc the launcher i cant install the game because i bloked the IE, i dont want it and i only use chrome and firefox, but to can install game i must activated it
today i had more problems with the launcher, i update the photoshop and, i dont know why but it looks like it altered something in IE, and problems come back...
launcher was failing loading scripts and sometimes reading server info or some data, and i cant load game
i solved it reinstalling IE, but it may give me problems with other programs
i think that, your launcher only will connect to your own server, then i think that is better that you create your own sistem to charge the loader page and dont use the IE because then players will not have problems to run game ir the IE crash or if it fail

sorry by my english i'm bad in it

    see you soon

Making a wrapper for IE is the easiest/time efficient/cost productive way run the launch (IE8 though Square? Really?).

You have to remember that not everyone uses Firefox/Safari/Chrome/Opera etc and Square doesn't want people to download another browser that isn't native to the OS because:
They have to support the browser
They have to update the API's and update the configs
They have to ensure functionality and be able to test updates and changes
You gotta pay to be able to use a third party browser in this type of application
They want to have an ease of access for the launcher and don't want users getting upset/frustrated/confused at installing a new browser for a program that Joe Everyman thinks is stand alone (you wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of people that don't know how to install a simple browser)
If something goes massively sideways in IE and compromises Square or their earnings, they have the peace of mind that they can always sue Microsoft for lost profit.

For square to make their own stand alone login client, they wouldn't due to the reasons above and:
They did have something like this. Called PlayOnline. It was HORRIBLE.
Square can't netcode out of a paper bag. I don't trust them to code a launcher and I wouldn't use their browser.
