    60 Minute Time Limit on New Dungeons

    So new dungeons were just announced on the lodestone. The link is below.

    The single screenshot given is.... well.... ok, nice to know there will be a pre requisite to getting into dungeons, but why on earth is there a 60 minute time limit. How can you possibly have any kind of meaningfull dungeon experience in only 60 minutes. If the maximum time limit in the dungeon is 60 minutes, it is safe to say the dungeon, from start to finish, is beatable in more like 45 min, if not less. How can you go through areas and areas of enemies and finally to a boss at the end in only 60 minutes. I dont understand why whenever SE releases anything and I mean ANYTHING, they always have to put limits on it. Why not allow people to experience it at their own pace. I just cant for the life of me understand this.

    Time limits allow for the best kind of content to be created.

    You should not punish failure. You should award success.

    With a time limit, every group can accomplish something. Good groups can accomplish more. As it should be.

    Nyzul isle, Salvage anyone? Bad group can clear 5 floors. Great group can clear 15. Bad group can kill one NM or mega boss. Good group can kill everything.

    Every group accomplishes something. Efficiency is awarded.

    You are comparing FFXI Endgame to FFXIV mid game content. Even the rank 45 dungeon, while it might be endgameish now, it will not be an endgame dungeon when PS3 version is released and there is actually a decent population playing this game. How is anyone supposed to take in the scenery of a dungeon and enjoy all the intricacies with a 60 minute time limit.

    A time limit forces replay value. Take that as a good or bad thing.

    if we are lucky its liky nyzul and the time limit makes it even better, if we are unlucky they just rushed a crapy copy pasted cave/instance out and its so boring that its better to rush through so you won't see all the flaws and not interesting things goin on around you.

    I agree with most people here: Time Limits on Raid Dungeons are a GOOD thing.

    It makes parties need to focus and strategize (and not just mess around). It adds a good type of tension and excitement, as well as challenge.

    I'm also hoping for multiple paths / areas, with different challenges and unlocks. All tied to Grand Companies and long-term, goal-oriented content.

    We'll all find out in 2 - 3 weeks.

    Everything that has a time limit is a leve now. I must have missed the memo?

    Time limits are fine. As long as they design the content properly.
