Please let us use crafting materials held by retainers

As nonsensical as it would be, it would be nice. It would also be nice if we could look into our retainers' inventories without calling them.

And if none of this is possible, at the very least is it too much to ask for to have retainer bells be available in more places? We have delivery moogles at every single Aethercite destination in the game (I think I've used a moogle outside of Gar/Lim/Uld maybe ONCE?) - put retainer bells there, too, and I would be a happy camper.

I remember seeing something about retainer bells in housing .. but that may have just been another request thread in the forums.

But yes, being able to use items with the retainers or even check if the retainers have something would be very helpful.

I just came back to the game and am pretty frustrated with this aspect of crafting. There are literally hundreds of recipes for each crafting job and of the materials needed you have different qualities. To expect players to enjoy crafting when their inventory is packed with these materials is just crazy. For how extensive the crafting in FFXIV is I am just shocked we haven't gotten this function yet. Nearly every other MMO out there has implemented it, included F2P ones.

I agree with this, a great QoL change for the game.

Diablo 3 once has the same system like FFXIV, and after many requests from player, now you can freely craft item without the mats in your inventory.

WoW has recently added this feature in as well (can now use mats in bank, no need to carry them) would be a great idea here too through retainers

Would be nice but they would shoot it down because it doesn't make sense to use materials that could potentially be half way across the world.

There is a bit of lore behind retainers. It is said they follow you around town. So atleast anyplace that would reliably have a a retainer bell(main cities, housing wards and houses themselves) this should be possible. Outside of that I'd say no(even though I would like it).
