I didn't say anything about RPing, I just though it would be a nice addition... I personally don't RP but if we ever do see SeeD gear in game and ppl RP in them.... Hey, to each their own..

Like I said, that's the only reason the FFXIII event was held - it's to advertise the launch of Lightning Returns which is released in the US and Europe next week - it had nothing to do with fanservice. Otherwise there's little financial incentive to bother with the expense in labour costs to model such outfits into the game. Besides, I think players are getting sick of crossover events and just want FFXIV to stand on it's own merits. A little fanservice here and there is fine, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Also considering it was asked here a while ago whether SE would be adding a simillar FFX/X-2 crossover event to ARR to coincide with the FFX/X-2 PS4 rerelease, and SE actually categorically stated 'no'. So it makes a FFVIII event seem even more likely.

Let's just wait and see man, I'd hope they are adding these outfits SINCE THEY ARE ADDING A VANITY SYSTEM.. I'll be rocking my speedo until some modern outfits are added.

Of course not, I was speaking in a general way. But my point is, a little fanservice is perfectly fine, but cramming the game with nothing but in jokes and cameos from past FF games just drags the whole setting and story down into utter farce, like turning the game into a bad fanfic. I know Yoshi is a big fan of the earlier FF titles (as in, pre FFVII era), but really, you know what they say about "less is more."
