Possible Economy Fix Reduce Drop Rate.

The biggest issue I see when I try to sell stuff on the Market Boards is more supply than demand. Anyone else notice it? The drop rate of items are ridiculously high. Why not just reduce the drop rate for all crafting material items by 65-80%? Reduce the drop rate and demand will meet supply.

You are asking SE to apply logic to this problem. Good luck with that. I'm still in fear of the "big economy changes" they are rolling out with 2.2, like really scared.

Didn't they INCREASE the drop rates for things like Fleece when the implemented 2.1 patch? I used to farm those for extra cash. Now it's pointless.

So in other words, I agree with you. Decrease drop rates = smaller supply. I support that.

LOL, Se's answer is to put more useless stuff into the economy and expect things to get better... Cause people that buy housing are going to go to the market board to get stuff... They have their whole fc to make stuff, not to mention they will probably have an npc selling stuff soon anyways...

How else would they cater to this generation of gamers? remember who are the most players.

They do not want rare stuff, they want everything to be 99% drop rate.

    ^This.

Let the people willing to put in the time to make money actually make money. Instead increasing drop rates, they need to reduce them.

They need to have npc's stop selling stuff too... Why be able to sell something on the market when the npc sell's it for pennies...

Yes they increased the drop rate of crating material hugely after the army of bots preventing players from farming their own materials or do hunting logs. IT WORKED. Now the bots are gone and I can farm fleece for my own use.

The best solution is for SE to toughen up and ban players who bot. They have only mostly been banning obvious RMT with hack tools, but not players who just bot with a repeating script. The last time they did this they got a firestorm from this forum of players claiming they were banned for some retarded made-up reasons like having too much gil.

Once they decisively ban all the player bots, RMT bots and gil buyers, they can reduce the drop ratw again.

The drop rate is fine as, plus there's other things to farm like night milk, apkallu eggs, snurble tufts, etc.

The most important thing I think is to have some sort of relisting fee. That way undercutting by 1 gil until the price drops to trash level will be reduced. Imagine having to pay a 100g fee just to change the price of your item.

Those repeating scripts are performed client side locally to the machine and don't interface at all with Program Files x86 > SquareEnix. Because of this, Square can't monitor that behavior and/or program without having a VPN/FTP (with full admin R/W rights) directly to everyone's machine. Never mind the MASSIVE invasion of privacy that would cause and ask yourself; Is Square competent enough to actually pull something like that off (hi NSA) and not wreck computers in the process (Hell, I could fake logs that would show that Square's software ruined my BIOS. Guess who would have to reimburse me for a new machine?)

Break the script by trying to trade the offending party.
