I happen to like my character and my name, but I can definitely understand where people are coming from on this, and agree one hundred percent as well. Fantasia is by and large, a useless item unless it allows you to change your name as well. I don't understand, AT ALL, why anyone would vehemently be against this to the point of argument. As long as they make it so that I'm still blacklisting that person, then I don't care. And even then, trolls and jerks will still be trolls and jerks, they could just make an alt too and grief people. Either way, allowing it isn't going to start a flood of trolls, the flood has already started. XD

So am I to take it that your "opinion" is that everyone should know exactly how they want their character to be when they make it, and that they should never want to deviate from said character's name, race, gender, etc.? Just because YOU are happy with your character, or feel that you may never want to change him doesn't mean that others will feel the same. Your idea was flawed, and narrow-minded.

You came in with a pretentious attitude, hence the snark. Not everyone is in the same boat that you are, and it is not unreasonable for us to request something as logical as a name change funciton, in a game where we can alter nearly everything else about our character with one item.

I can think of a few examples...i'm pretty sure it would appeal to RPers, maybe the name they gave the toon they are RPing just doesn't fit after all and want a change, there are many reasons why someone would want their name changed, however we may feel about it ultimately it's their choice if they want to change it.

i used my RL name on my character jz because i cant find a good name ( my own taste ) :/

people want to name change because of this. personally, it's just a little annoyance that i put up with but when name changes come out i will definitely change it. i like the name, but it's kinda weird having a roegadyn name with a lalafell character. i did not expect to have an item that lets me change my race and decided that i wanted to try something different. i ended up liking it, but now my character is stuck like this. i might just switch back to roegadyn depending on whether fantasia or a name change becomes available first, just for consistency.

Haha, it is "stupid"? Sorry, but trolling exists enough already. People don't care about their "reputation" in an MMO with a lot of cross server content like the duty finder and crystal tower. Most won't bother spending money to change their name for consequences in a community that barely exists. For the rest that actually care enough to spend cash on it, they already have the option of server transferring that includes a name change.

Name changes would really only serve those who changed their minds on their names after they race changed, etc. As "stupid" as you think it is, SE already confirmed it anyway.
