If one gets banned for RMT, the whole account is banned not just that character. However, RMT makes so much money that it really doesn't matter to them to buy another account (or steal it if they are that kind of Gil Farmer.)

I actually do this for my FC as well. If you were able to control that gil could go in, but not out, I would keep it in the FC chest. The problem is with new members you just never know, especially when actively recruiting. It wasn't even my idea, a few FC mates asked if I could do that because they didn't want to risk it. Even though you can see the transactions being made, that doesn't stop people from picking up a bunch of gil, then leaving FC. You can report them, but I don't know if there's any gurantee that you will get your gil back, as it didn't break the game's rules. Trusting your leader > trusting new recruits unfortunately. To be fair, those are not people you want in your fc anyway.
And I do not see a reason why you should not keep the gil in your fc chest.
Not even with your given arguments.
Access to the gil can be restricted, every member can see on the spot how much there is in there and everyone can see all transactions being made.
You can set it as deposit only, my FC has it set to that, for the general member ranks and raider ranks at least.I actually do this for my FC as well. I'll have to check this when I get home for the 500th time lmao. I've seriously not seen this option ever. If it's true, then I guess I can change it again, and sorry for the misunderstanding. Carry on with this bizarre thread.
By far the worst idea I've ever read on the forums. And there have been REALLY, REALLY, bad ones.

I am shocked no one has brought this up. If you're in a Free Company, where all of your gil is stored, what happens when the Free Company falls apart or you no longer want to be with them and you leave? Do you just lose all of your gil? Sounds like a horribly thought out plan for something that's not even remotely a problem.
Edit: You stated that you get your initial surplus amount from when you joined. I understand this. However, What if you had accumulated more than your initial surplus? Bad idea is bad.

Ridiculously Absurd....
Has this been said before in regards to OP suggestion???

Oh my goodness, it sounds like somebody is a greedy FC leader. Also OPs ideas are some of the worst I've ever heard.

I can't believe I even read down to #2. This is the dumbest idea I have ever heard, and there is some very stupid things said on this forum.

There is nothing illegal about it if SE becomes the vendor. The only thing that makes it against the rules is that it is outlined in the EULA as being so. If that is amended to allow SE to sell gil, then the problem is solved.
