So, uh, well....you sure have funny way of spending your free time imo. I don't usually follow up the mind numbing experience of work with more mind numbing experience...unless you're talking about playing video games in an altered state, I'm totally okay with that.

Been playing since the original launch, and only playing because there isn't anything better. Doesn't change the fact that I find this game to be an awful experience, and nothing even remotely close to what we were promised. The homogenization of the mmo market, and ARRs willing acceptance of it has me on edge. I congratulate SE on the turn around, but I can't help be disappointed.

SE and other companies will stop when it stops being profitable. After 1.x, you can hardly blame them for taking the path of least resistance.

Only an Indie MMO would really try to break the mold, because they're generally only concerned with breaking even. Yet MMO's are simply too expensive to make to take for them to take that risk, even simple single player games are risky for them. Big companies are not about breaking even, they're about making profit.

And honestly, to them you're a satisfied customer, because you're continuing to sub. Every sub is one more point in their 'we're doing things right' pot. The more subs they have, the less likely they are to change anything or try anything new. Obviously they'll expand the game, but mostly with more of the same, and the occasional new systems. Because they're already making money, which means they're in the right.

I honestly enjoy the game, and I look forward to seeing what else they add. In my experience, MMO's usually get more interesting over time. (Usually)

I have been debating letting my sub run out. I want to believe they can change it for the better, but my patience is really coming to a close. There isn't a single aspect of this experience I find fun. Three years is three years longer than I would have given to any other company.

I think that is great news for XIV, Yoshida and Square Enix.

Really enjoying all aspects of the game. Those who feel bored as if XIV dont have much content to do atm, I kinda feel they are just pidgeonholing themselves into doing just 1 or 2 aspects of the game.

Also I have seen people saying Blizzard is way faster and bigger with their content patches. I kinda have to disagree. Played for hardcore for 5 years, and their patch cycles has always been: 3-4 months small content, rehashed dungeons or a few new ones, minor tweak. 4-6 months Raid tiers. And from the last content patch until their new expansion, it takes them 8-12 MONTHS.

I prefer Yoshidas content cycles, constant adding small bits and pieces every 2 months and their 2.1 patch was really huge with how much various stuff they put in. Including recoloring/texturing the Thaumaturge Guild in Uldah.

@Zezlar You have played too much that is why you are bored and that is why you are finding negatives. You can always quit the game, do something else (because there is always something else if you "really" think your current entertainment is stale) and at the same time remain true to the fact you argue about.

Otherwise is hot air and you cannot quit the game because it is the best out there for you right now.

One can never win: if it weren't giving profit them people would say "I told you!", if it give profit people say "ah, but that's that much...". I am happy the game is doing well, I paid for it after all. And SE will keep seeing my money until I stop having fun.

Awesome now that they are making cash maybe they can make that long awaited final fantasy 7 remake remastered edition...

They may never remake FFVII, due to the plot changes, tumors and added characters from the Compilation they would have to redo the entire game to account for.

Which would upset purist's. And if they fail to change anything and just copy the game straight to HD, they upset the fans of the compilation. So when stuck between this rock and hard place. They take another option, Stall. Bandy around press releases and non-committal answers to avoid the fact that they have an unpleasable fanbase.

Then this is proof positive why anyone who is a fan of the final fantasy series should give ARR a shot.

There isn't anything better out there....someone who finds it mind numbingly redundant is still playing....someone who cannot find one thing fun about the game is contemplating on whether to cancel their sub or not....

Sounds like an addicting experience.
