You could pull your Squareenix folder onto an external drive, reformat and drop the folder back in Program Files x86 and try to load it. That would tell us if the issue is OS related, or a corrupted file in XIV itself.
I don't really have that option actually, and rolling back is no longer an option either because the scan erased my restore points... I even tried uninstalling the game from my PC completely and reinstalling it, but it still gave the error messages... and I also read that there were similar issues in the past regarding the Launcher giving script errors. Sorry, there's not much else I can say or do at this point.
your dskchk killed off your restore points? So you did have bad files that it tried to clear.
You're going to need to reformat at this point. The issue is in the OS and will persist until you ntfs format.
well crap... well, I tried to reinstall again, made sure I erased everything about the game on this computer... after it finished, I opened the launcher then it prompted to update. didn't do it the first time so I clicked again, prompted again, and now back at the script error... ugh am I really going to have to completely restore my computer?
Sadly, I think that's our only option.well crap... well, I tried to reinstall again, made sure I erased everything about the game on this computer... after it finished, I opened the launcher then it prompted to update. didn't do it the first time so I clicked again, prompted again, and now back at the script error... ugh am I really going to have to completely restore my computer?
You uninstalled and reinstalled and it just hang. JSON call out probably initiated but couldn't complete it's loop and go stuck. That you uninstalled and reinstalled the program is pretty solid evidence that there is a java corruption in your OS itself causing the root issue.
Pull as much over as you can to an eternal HDD, reformat, and drop it back in.
