    Future of the Scholar (Helios)

It's fairly well assumed that with the next level cap increase Summoner will be getting an additional summon (egi). However I haven't seen any speculation in regards to the Scholar.

Personally - I'm hoping for a male fairy with some abilities that can provide unique advantages in specific situations. For those of you who do not know; in Greek mythology, Eos and Selene are both personifications of the Dawn and Moon respectfully. In one of the more common adaptations of the myth, they only had one other sibling - Helios; the personification of the Sun.

Helios could have a couple of neat abilities too:

Embrace - the default fairy ability

Sol Glare - casts blind on the enemy, 20s on a 120s cooldown

Fey Aureole (or Fey Halo) - Increase 'physical resistance on self and party members by 20% for 20s on a 120s cooldown (15y radius)

Helios Megistos (or 'Sol Invictus') - doubles potency of ALL actions performed by self for 12s on a 120s cooldown

As Eos is primarily healing (and slight magical def.) and Selene is support - I thought it would be nice to have something with a hint of physical support (blind and phys def.).

Obviously Eos is the way to go in a majority of the content in the game, and I'm not looking to equal Eos in that regard - just thinking of something that could be fun and still beneficial.

    I just want a male fairy :3

Lol I said a male fairy some weeks ago.

I like the idea, however Helios Megistos would be OP imo, and sol glare would be useless due to ruin 2. Nice ideas though.

Embrace same potency as the girls
Sol Fulgo Stun same stats as Silent Dusk or Sol Celeres Casts haste on target.
I like the Fey Aureole idea but I would call it Fey Velarium
Stella Coro Increases potency of all attacks 20s 120s cooldown, can not be active with fey glow, fey light

    Feedback always cool.

    Sounds great, almost!

Sounds great, almost! However, the only issue is the summon's role needs to be consistent. Summon I is a healing role, so it gives buffs that affect healing and damage reduction. Summon II is a support role, so it has supporting abilities. I think it's more logical for there to be a Summon III for debuffing.

    This would make more sense.

Embrace - the default fairy ability

Sol Glare - casts blind on the enemy, 20s on a 60s cooldown

Fey Aureole (or Fey Halo) - decrease the physical resistance of nearby enemies by 20% for 20s on a 120s cooldown (15y radius).

Helios Megistos (or 'Sol Invictus') - increases potency of a single mob's DOTs effects for 20s on a cooldown of 120s.

Why would SCH have a pet to blind.
Remember SCH is a healing class, so it is support all around.

EOS - Healing support Selene - DPS If anything a Helios would support the tank in direct overall damage reduction now I think about it.

Well the same question could be asked of why SCH's Selene has Silence. Selene is a support pet, not just a support DPS pet. While SCH primarily heals, it also supports with eye for an eye/sacred soil and debuffs with virus. Therefore, it would not be completely strange to have a debuffing pet. Also blind would make the target hit the tank less.

But as Sanguiso said earlier, SCHs already have their own blinding skill, ruin 2 which is insta cast. It makes no sense to give a fairy a blinding skill on top of the debuff that SCHs already have. There are other debuffs that fairys can inflict without overlapping with SCH skills.

Would it be OP to have a fairy that casts debuffs like determination down on an enemy for short periods of time? I'm thinking of a virus type fairy that supports by making enemies weaker as opposed to making the party stronger.

i can see a debuffing pet for the reason you outlined, but what about a damage pet?

No a DMG pet is SMN territory. I think it would blur our class' role too much.

Very true SCH does already have Blind. Stun maybe.

But SCH already have an access to Blind. Ruin II anyone?

And am I the only one who sees that Eos is not the way in the majority of the content? I mean Eos heal buff can only do so much, while Selene's spellspeed buff is really something to look for, especially when you have a 2 DPS caster in your party (which is really common nowadays).
