Some Advice?~

For one, whoever was 'leading' your group was doing a piss poor job of it. Yeah AK is easy for the majority of us NOW, because we have all an the fight dozens of times and been way over-geared to do so. Everyone that ran AK wiped on Demon Wall their first time, unless they got pulled. For the 'leader' to have a fresh 50 with a GC weapon and AF armor try to solo the golem adds is not only unrealistic, it's just dumb. There are two DPS!! There is no reason for anyone to tell you to solo that golem. Sure it can be done, but that doesn't mean it needs to be done. Those golems start shooting off AOE moves on top of the AOE move the boss does also. Trying to have one DPS solo that add is just stupid. The faster it dies, the easier it is for everyone. You don't need a different weapon for AK, you need a new leader who actually knows how to help fresh 50s. AK can be done easily with full AF/GC weapon with the right help and direction.


That said....you may want to re-evaluate how far you are going to make it to your relic. The 2nd boss of AK is much more difficult to a new player than the 1st boss. And Ifrit is a relatively easy fight. The mechanics are scripted, all you need to do is learn it and it's always going to be the same. It gets absolutely no easier from here on out for you. If you label Ifrit as 'crazy hard', then Titan might be game-breaking for you. I don't mean to discourage, I truly don't. But maybe, instead of finding alternatives to the Ifrit weapon, you should actually farm Ifrit until its easy for you. You should have your weapon by then. Garuda is harder, and Titan is no joke, which are both in your way before you get a relic.

I'd use Ltn weapon or DL weapon which drops from WP until you luck out on Ifrit/Garuda. Though I'd say your incident in AK was more of a mess up on whoever was your dps partner then. Even if they put you on add duty, the other dps should have been intelligent enough to help you out, I mean, you're relatively fresh without primal weps dl gear, plus your drg so you're dps wouldn't be the highest without your positional attacks.

As for the Ifrit thing I did him four more times today (though I'd only have time for like one maybe two otherwise I would have tried Wanderers Palace) and started to get better. I still had some issues but I eventually worked them out myself. After saying "I'm new" or "Could you explain x to me?" last night multiple times with no answer I gave up on asking people and just figured it out myself lol Idk why people always assume the dragoon is stunning but whatever >_> Tired of repeating myself to people that I'm not.
But at least it got easier for me. Imma have to look up guides on him too, to try and find out why a wipe happens here or there though. But I had two wins today! Sadly just a black mage and white mage weapon lol

The other DPS was, but he was told not to so he didn't. Maybe he was new too, idk.

Golems can be stunned, however they should never be targetting a DPS unless the tank is doing a pretty miserable job.

I've run AK twice, as pld. The first time, I couldn't make it past Demon Wall. I was told to ignore the adds, but then after my failure, someone else told me to ignore the wall and grab the adds >< So, the second run I got through it, but my LS helped and I'm pretty sure they carried me through it (which makes me feel bad).

Regarding the golems, I was also told to completely ignore them as the tank, and just keep the soulflayer behind a pillar. Was that wrong??

Run some CM roulette and grab some darklight. Shouldn't take to long either

AK Demon wall

with GOOD dps , avoid adds and rush boss (LB from melee should do the trick too)

low dps = kill adds or u are going to wipe


keep farming ifrit , and garuda until u get your weapon , get DL and 1 piece from Crystal tower (1 item /week, pants or chest are the best options since give the most stats) then start working on your relic



and if there is a PLD drg wont be stunning on bosses, PLD stun last 6s (on first stun)

The only golem that should be ignored is the big one that marches through the middle of the room. The other two should be picked up, however, as it keeps them off DPS and the healer, and allows certain abilities to spread their damage, such as Bane. Another bonus is that you can also stun them to prevent the AoE attacks they do.

Watched Mrhappy1227's video on AK walkthrough, woo!
DId Ifrit more out of spite to get better and to practice for when I need him on my relic quest and out of luck managed to get his spear, woo!
Now that the spite for Ifrit is out of my system I plan to do WP tomorrow at least a few times lol Was going to do that tonight but the hatred for Ifrit... >_>;;

Ifrit is easy to handle... I've noticed however that players are incredibly bad at it nowadays.
As long as you get past nails, the rest should be easy as long as you have at least one competent healer and one competent tank... Even if all dps dies, and only tank and healer remains, they can slowly wear it down, or healer can just LB3 to get everyone up eventually.
