Just keep doing the primals.
If you get some darklight gear you should be able to kill Garuda and Moogle Mog for level 70 and 75 weapons ^^
If you are really desperate there are also level 70 weapons that can be crafted for about 50k gil
Do not get discouraged by other people (much less if using DF). Like others have said: your party was asking too much of an i51 DRG. Support would have been needed from other dps in that situation.
Another option for a new weapon (though not much different stats than FC Spear) is Thundercloud (until you achieve the ifrit/garuda/titan/relic/zenith). It is a weapon purchased with points (Behemoth Horns) obtained by killing Behemoth (FATE). 1 gold rating = free spear. It looks great and some people might even be jealous of you. In fact I used Thundercloud until I had my relic - I didn't even see Ifrit, Garuda, or Titan drop their respective spears. (and at least now you can actually SEE Behemoth when you fight him :P ).
If you have cash or a lvl 50 CRP and are impatient for drops, you may wish to purchase/make an extra Champion spear and fully materia meld it.
You may need to upgrade your armor to DL though if not only for Titan HM if you are not part of a premade group. The min ilvl for certain dung/ raids (especially for DF) was set too low imo by SE.
If you have any other questions just ask.
(Too bad you are not on my server so I could help you in "person".)

@Aureliami
If it costs a lot I prolly won't bother with the crafted Stuff. Earning it through fun bosses and dungeons is way more fun anyways because of the feeling of accomplishment xD
Plus I do not have any real income beyond quests and selling materia every now and then.
@ThanatosDreamsunder
That makes me feel soooo much less stressed about weapons if something like Thundercloud is that simple to get and can last till a relic weapon. I felt too pressured to be forced into things. And I'm already looking to Darklight. Got two pieces. Just going to take a bit. Only using the low level duty roulette. The Main Scenario roulette I have ignored because of the bad experiences in them. When I finished the storyline in both dungeons everyone ignored me after I said I'm new, explained nothing, left me behind during cutscenes and only talked to me to shout at me if I did something wrong lol was not a fun ending to the game for me. I also wondered if I should get thundercloud but I thought it would be the same as an FC spear so I overlooked it xD But now I'm very enticed to get it.
Wanderer's Palace is much easier than AK for the record. And you can probably go into CT to have a shot to get your Onion gear every week, I've never seen anyone be kicked from being "undergeared" in CT. CT also drops 200 phil tomes and 50 myth if it's incentive enough. Can get your DL gear quickly and potentially your CT gear.
You can also get some crafted gear from the market boards, although some are ridiculously over priced (particularly the ilvl 70 ones that require phil tome items to make, like the Sarnga bow and Vanya armors).
And keep trying at Ifrit, usually people win the fight with relative ease compared to other HM primal fights, but it's not hard to wipe on him. The Ifrit weapon will be a good step up from a DL weapon or a GC weapon, Garuda's and Titan's weapons are better still. Although if you don't want to farm them, you could get (if you can afford to) a HQ crafted ilvl70 weapon from the market board or have someone craft it for you (or craft it yourself).
Hey I noticed you're on Brynhildr! I've got a crazy good Dragoon in my FC, and we'd be more than happy to come with you on a run or two and he can tell you if there's anything you can do to improve your rotation (although it sounds more like it's just a gear problem, which will simply improve with time). I can help you out with some of the primals too if you'd like. I like the fights :P
Just send a tell to Kezy Kaatapoh and I'll see what I can do![]()
@File2ish
idk about CT because everything I have been reading on the forums about it...but I will do Wanderer's Palace now instead of AK o:
though I still plan to watch videos and try AK again too.
As for primals guess I can give Ifrit a shot again to. I found him really fun albeit confusing at the end. Idk exactly why every time in all four parties we kept dying but even dying was still fun xD was just kinda frustrating to not get anywhere because I felt like I hit a wall trying to get better weapons.
@Kezy Kaatapoh
I whispered you but it said message could not be sent qq
I'm not on yet >.> I'll be on later tonight. I'll try and send you a tell when I get on. :P
@Kezy Kaatapoh
Sorry didn't mean to sound pushy qq
Was just excited lawl
And later would be better for me anyways, right now I'm slavi- gathering for my significant other of my own free will :C
I'll be free later though :3
I wouldn't recommend it. Thundercloud's actually not all that great. Despite its quality, GC weapon is still superior, especially if you have a second piece of GC gear to wear with it.Another option for a new weapon (though not much different stats than FC Spear) is Thundercloud (until you achieve the ifrit/garuda/titan/relic/zenith). It is a weapon purchased with points (Behemoth Horns) obtained by killing Behemoth (FATE). 1 gold rating = free spear. It looks great and some people might even be jealous of you. Obtaining it quite difficult too since Behemoth only spawns every few days and you have to be online at that particular time because he dies fast. Getting gold is even harder. Out killing him at least 10 times, only once did I get a gold rating. Usually I just get silver, which awards 1 horn instead of 5, or a depressing bronze.
