    Some Advice?~

    *Will need to edit to post everything, hold on~*
    *K, got it all posted. Feel free to read and comment :3*

    I reached lvl 50 and decided, a lil hesitantly due to bad experiences with jerks in parties during the 8 man story dungeons at lvl 50, to do some end game content. More specifically just the things required to get my relic weapon and maybe some day things like Crystal Tower or Coil. However I feel like I am doing fairly bad at dishing out Damage. For example I got to Amdapoor and my party assigned me (and only me) to deal with adds on the first boss. However, and this is a guess but I feel fairly certain of it's estimation, it was taking me around 35-45 seconds to drop one ad on my own with a lvl 50 serpents spear (Grand Company weapon). It got to the point that the second add would be revived by the boss before I even dropped the first (or vice versa). So we lost the DPS race every time we tried and quit. During Ifrit I noticed my Aggro on those bars in the party menu showed I could get as high as the 3rd target after tank so I thought I was doing well but after Amdapoor I feel like I am not. I know to upgrade gears to Darklight but I did not see any Darklight weaponry. After researching a bit I read that getting Ifrit's weapon next after a lvl 50 weapon is the best route because Ifrit is easy. Well I spent 2.5 hours in 4 parties that all failed every attempt, with the closest being like 10% HP left. So I have armor covered with Darklight as I get more pieces....but it seems I cannot acquire an Ifrit weapon (or at least not anytime soon). Is there any other recommended weapon I can get that is not as crazy hard as Ifrit's but will still get the job done at Amdapoor that anyone would suggest me grabbing? o:

    DL weapons drop from Wanderer's Palace and Ampador Keep IIRC. There's also the option of i70 crafted weapons depending on how much they go for on your server. There's also the option of running Thornmarch until you see your mog weapon drop (took me 2 weeks to see a SMN drop in that fight >.<) which will have better stats than an Ifrit weapon.

    Wanderers palace is very easy. Honestly one of the easiest and quickest dungeon to clear.

    I recommend going there.

    If you get enough tomes (1125 I think, 9x 125 each) of philosophy, you can buy the materials necessary to craft the lvl 70 weapon for your job, and you can usually just shout "Hey are there any crafters around who can HQ an "ITEM NAME" for me with NQ mats? Help me out!" in Limsa and someone will send a /tell offering to help you. I help people out with crafting all the time~

    Those items will be better than Ifrit/Garuda/Wanderer's Palace weapons, and it will probably take less time overall to farm tomes than to get the drop you want from dungeon/primals~

    Darklight Weaponry is in Wanderer's Palace, and possibly Amdapor Keep now, after the final boss. There are some Lv 70 weapons that can be compared to Garuda's drops that you can craft or buy on the market board. They may be pricey, depending on the server. Most are roughly 60k-80k on mine, but those are HQ.

    Can the golem adds be stunned? If you can, then get Heavy Thrust and/or Disembowel up and you'll do a *lot* more damage to them. Worst to worst, get Heavy Thrust up from the boss when you see an add coming. And make sure you do the combos. Sounds silly to say but it's very common for Dragoons to not do them. Don't forget to use your Jumps between GCDs and power them up when you can. Now, you won't be able to do the Impulse to Chaos combo if you can't get behind it (unless you take a pot shot to the boss and finish the combo off on the add), but True Thrust to....the name totally escaped me....(with Life Surge if you can) will take a big chunk out of its life. Try to avoid Blood for Blood if your healer isn't good, but if you can count on him/her, it'll help.

    Keep Heavy Thrust up as much as you can, use cooldowns as necessary, and always make sure you're doing your combo rotations, and your DPS will keep up just fine. And don't panic if you have a couple bad runs. Everyone was new once, and though most people have run AK and WP ad nauseum they just don't have the patience anymore, there are more that will understand.

    @myahele: I'll try it soon then o:
    @KikInperi : That also sounds really good o: I would have doubted that kind of nicety with this community but just today someone crafted and melded my champion spear I needed for my relic quest for free and even offered to help at Dhorme Chimera and did *-* Shout out to King Oppa!
    @Rhindas: That's the problem, I did .-. I may not know the "pro" or "ultimate" rotation, but here is what I normally do at bosses or mobs in general:
    If Mob is being tanked by another = Heavy Thrust, Impulse Drive to Combo Dismbowl and Chaos Thrust > Phlem-whatever > True Thrust (not logged in so forgive me if I get the names wrong >>; ) > Power Surge in between global cd > Vorpal Thrust > Jump > Full Thrust > repeat.
    Attacking a mob aggroing me > Either The long jump that stuns the opponent or Leg Sweep to stun > Impulse Drive to Combo Disembowl then Chaos Thrust > Leg Sweep (if not used so that I can get a heavy thrust in) or just Phlem > Then same thing I just said above. True Thrust > Power Surge for +Jump damage > Vorpal Thrust > Jump > Full Thrust. But I was killing pretty slowly anyways x.x Just have Drachen Set atm with a dark light helm and belt and the lvl 50 Serpent SPear.

    Edit: Was told Amdapor is easily do-able in the 50 armor set you get for job quests but I still really felt like I lacked any real damage. I also don't use blood for blood on fights with unavoidable AoE's though out of fear of pointless waste of heals from the healer lawl

    I would of asked for help killing the adds if you needed it. Most of the time in AK though, I see everyone killing the adds.

    Your gear doesn't look bad for the content that you're trying and a level 55 weapon is more than fine for AK or Ifrit. If you've already defeated Ifrit, I would recommend doing Garuda or Mog for their weapon for the added ilvl. For a DPS class, CT only requires the bare minimum to complete (half the people in there are probably spiritbinding junk anyways) so I would recommend doing that to get something before the end of the week. The main thing is pretty much not dying and you'll get the job done.

    If you think you're still not doing enough damage then maybe you need to take a look at how you're using your skills and if there's anything that can be done to improve upon it.

    Golems can be stunned, however they should never be targetting a DPS unless the tank is doing a pretty miserable job.

    Oh, definitely. In fact it's often the case that I send a /tell to the person shouting for help almost immediately, only to get a reply like "Thanks a lot but somebody else already offered =)"

    There's a lot of nice people in the community, they just don't tend to be as vocal/noticeable as all the jerks =P

    @Espon
    It's not that I didn't ask for help, it's just what i was told to do for the 3 attempts we tried it and I could not keep them dead like I was told to .-.
    Was told I should be able to do it on my own with good gears but I could not. So I feel like I let our group down lol
    It was my first time so idk what you're suppose to do, I just did as I was told by the tank

    Edit:
    @KikInperi - that's how I am 8D rarely talk in public but I help people and explain tactics and such. The bad experiences I had were with parties that I told I was new to said content but they all ignore me/don't tell me tactics but happily shout at me if I mess something up lol
