Another disappointing event.

Still haven't seen one single event that has been mildly interesting, challenging, or rewarding. I only do them for the achievements and move on. And I've done them all so far. All im getting so far are random fates, or sleep walking quests. Let's get some player interaction in here. I say this every time a new event is out. Even the worst WoW event was better than the best FF14 one.

Hoping things improve.

Make a trial. The entrance to the instance is a door somewhere. But there are 8 keys needed to unlock. You can find the keys in random locations anywhere (behind a rock, under a bridge, at hard to jump to areas, inside a bush,on an npcs head, behind the counter in wineport.. etc) , and you can only carry 1 key. When you assemble 8 keys (2 tanks, 2 healers, 4 dps) You can form a team and open the door. Inside you will be granted one shot at a 15-30 / 30-40 / 40-50 / 50+ boss . Your leader chooses which to face. If you die, the keys shatter and you have to start again. If you win, super cool mount for everybody. This trial involves team work, chance, and skill. Ergo it involves FUN. And the reward would be cool because I for one would be envious of those that got the top prize.

FUN!

And yes the keys are nontradable and unique lol (none of this store multiple uniques in your retainer stuff) These are KEY ITEMS. Lol get it? Key items?

As for lore? I'll leave that to somebody else. Details, details...

I don't know, this guy is raising an egg farm, but OH NO all his chickens got away.

You must get those chickens back, but somehow wouldn't you know it they got all over Eorzea. (all over the map, in treasure boxes, running around dungeons, dropping as loot, hidden in fishing ponds! ).. how'd you get there?

The farmer had 16 different types of chickens, or varying color, shape , size, and cuteness. You must find and collect them all to restore his dream of being a success! Some are rarer than others to obtain. No you may not trade them, no you may not have more than one of them, these are valuable chickens that need to go home!

When at last you achioeve victory, you get the /chickendance emote or you get the baby chick minion, or you get the "CHICKEN MASTER" title. Or you get a chievy!

Whatever, I'd still do it!

They're silly little holiday events. Why do people look for challenges in these? o.O Its meant for festivities, that's it. Ever celebrate a real life holiday and say something silly like "Man, New Year's Eve just wasn't interesting or challenging this year. Thanks, calendar."?

I actually quite liked the event, other than the stupid item swapping thing at the end (but at least the item could be sold on the Market Board). And I'm sorry but you lose points alone on mentioning WoW. It's not meant to be a major, serious event, but just a bit of fun for a specific holiday (Valentine's Day in this case).

Look up the valentines day event on said game. I havent played it in like 5 years but as I recall it actually took some effort to complete, and was fulfilling. And it does suck that I'm referencing Wow, but fact is they did some pretty amazing events. Everything I've tried in here has ranged from tolerable to a snoozefest.

But hey maybe the next event wont be run to a random fate or two , and/or teleport around the map for 5 minutes talking to ppl. I wouldn't bet on it though!

I liked this one compared to most of the others, *because* of the player interaction. Instead of waiting on the RNG gods to allow us to continue we can, heaven forbid, socialize. Or just use the Market Board, I guess. And I, for one, look forward to the continued, uh, misadventures of Yellow Moon. That's not the only quest she's involved in. :P

Though I do wish they'd be kinda longer. Give out the option to get the rewards right away for people who just want the costumes. And then continue it after with optional stuff or something.

I found it clever storytelling in spite of its brevity. They even injected dark humor.

So true. It's ironic then that for a holiday event that is supposed to be about unconditional and undying love, it has been generating an enormous amount of hate and anger. I guess that's just symbolic of society in general now. (sighs sadly*

Sometimes I like to post opinions, and search for the occasional person who doesn't think having a negative one about the game requires soul destruction. Or completely offensive stuff like the comment above me (o3o). Classless.
