it would be interesting to see hamlet defense brought back

I'd like to see more overworld areas added as well. I hope at a certain point the game will start to expand its geography on the scale of FFXI, which was huge. Really one of the first things that drew me into FFXI was how big it was. You had to run everywhere instead of teleporting, so that certainly contributed to how expansive the world felt, but I remember that feeling of exploring this vast land, a plateau with dandelions as tall as trees, a desolate desert with deadly creatures, things like that. I haven't gotten this feeling in FFXIV yet, and while I do really enjoy the game, I am hopeful for where it is going to head in the future, and hope there is a bigger focus on things other than instanced content.

I am tired of all the dungeons and how linear this game is...
I don't craft, so after the initial (oh look it's Monday, let's 1 shot T1-T4 in an hour), there's NOTHING left to do the rest of the week.
And I'm not going to PvP in this game, the design is dumb.
don't forget about night time, the feeling of the area changed and sometimes you had to be very careful when exploring at night because of the different mobs that spawned that were a lot harder to kill, like skeletons and bogies, that's one of the things that I miss a lot you could be chased all over the area linking more mobs and lots of times was better for you to zone out to get rid of those mobs or kill whatever you aggroed before getting too many on you, right now the mobs of our same level doesn't last long enough alive to complete a dragoon combo
I agree with what has been said here, I hope the Dev team are looking into these things. Ffxi had some weaknesses obviously but there were alot of positives in it and I would like to see more of these being incorparated here.
BCNM, NM, are a must I feel.
There needs to be alot of work on the general story in my opinion, more details that are more obvious. World events like the siege that used to happen. Stuff like that.
I don't really need an expansion.
At the moment SE has chosen a range of content mainly consisting of dungeons and an item spiral.
Visit dungeon -> get marks -> more dungeon -> marks -> gear -> dungeon -> aso
Implementing the treasure hunt is one first step to get more open world content and I really hope that players do them often. And hopefully SE is being creative in the future with the loot in those chests, because getting marks or gear will only put us in the above cycle.
Gear is needed, but obtaining gear like we have atm will get many people bored. Running a dungeon stoic will not pay subs.
I like Random-Number-Generator
'cause I'm able to accept that
a dice normally has six sides
a pyramid has 5 sides
a toast has 2 sides
AND I CAN'T PREDICT WHICH SIDES IT FALLS TO.
Do wish they would make mob spawns weather dependant... some noly in certain weather or day/night etc.
And yes more open world stuff to do.

Was this something like a Fate Boss, without the big indicator on the world map? Was it something that required a group, or was it something you could solo through great effort?
I think I'd like something like that. The only problem is that I hate RNG with a passion, so I'd miss out on a lot of good stuff because I didn't want to be bothered with it.![]()
I like the weather-changing mobs idea a lot, actually. It would change up questing quite a bit, as well as Fate grinding.
What kind of Open World stuff are people looking for? I've always thought of it as stuff like gathering and crafting (maybe more varied, but the same general concept), sidequests that are ultimately just like the regular quests, but optional, and other small minigames that break up the monotony but are generally not requirement or giving rewards that aren't mandatory to have, but extremely cool if you do.

A NM was some kind of rare mob. Many FATES we have today with a single boss have been NMs in 1.x. They either dropped rare craft materials or rare gear.
RNG... as you can see in my signature, I like em. But I have to tell you that I don't care if or when I am lucky enough to get that one item I want. In this game, and others too, it is part of the FUN to run content with friends and to date I did never had the urge to have said item X. This is how I use my time to play, of course you can have another oppinion.

I think I'd like something like that. If they could mix them in with gear or materials as the big payoff instead of large XP dumps of the Fates, it would add some variety.
Different opinions is what makes it interesting and is half the reason I'm in this thread. <3RNG... as you can see in my signature, I like em. My opinion primarily comes from bitterness and being unlucky ("Random" target mechanics unerringly come after me, sometimes almost all of them, rolls for loot are generally not even close). While it may be exciting to see if something drops, I just feel sometimes that I'm being punished for not being lucky enough to get something when I put time into it like everyone else, often times more, and don't get the same reward. It is one of the things I do enjoy about this game, as if I can't get a drop, I have tomes that I can use to get similar gear and feel like I'm not just wasting my time. Its more disheartening when the rare gear is significantly better than everything else. Some people hate that feature, but again, we're all going to have different opinions on it.
