PS3 SSD upgrade

So I started researching why I was lagging so bad on my PS3. After reading some threads it seems many people fix their lag problem on their PS3 by upgrading their hard drive to a SSD drive.

My question is which one should I buy. I been shopping around around on Amazon and found a Samsung, Crucial, and Kingston. Now I do want some quality but also a bargin.

The only reason I have a PS3 is to play FFXIV, I have a smart tv so I use it for all my other TV and movie apps. I play nothing else on it or download any content to my PS3. What size should I get if thats the case to suppor this game and hopefully a handful on expansions. I was eyeing up the Kingston 60Gb because of price and I don't think I would need a lot of space unless FFXIV eats it up.

Or should I opt out in buying a ps4 if I end up having to buy a more expensive drive. I would just end up selling my ps3 on ebay.

It's more preference than anything. I would stay away from Hybrid HDD's though. I've dealt with both Samsung and Crucial (Micron) for DRAM related issues:

Crucial - This is actually Micron. They're based, manufactured, and operated out of Boise, ID. They are more expensive than most, but you're buying American for what it's worth (plus Boise is my stomping ground)

Samsung - Their customer support is AMAZING. Any time I've had an issue with one of their products I would actually get connected with an Applications Engineer (I'd do my own TS and would likely just need an RMA).

Both companies have I/O speeds around the same clock and their MTBF are about the same. It all comes down to preference (and the better deal). Can't say a whole lot to Kensington. I've never used them but I have heard negative things.

Not for gameplay no. Boot times, yes. Don't worry about R/W speeds but compare I/Ops.
