What do you guys think about a: Help Wanted Board?

So I was kicking around the idea of a "Help Wanted Board"

Players looking to make gil could use the board to take on a job offered by another player in game. The player posting the job could request certain items be made or gathered for a set price.

Players who want to complete the requested task could select it, trade the requested items to an NPC standing at the board and be given the reward money. The items traded could then be auto-mailed to the person who set the job posting or placed in a holding container until that player who posted the job can log in and obtain the items.

I know there are probably flaws to this idea, but I think it would be cool in a way. I know im not the only one who hates sitting around waiting for stuff to sell on the AH and wondering if I wasted my time farming something that nobody might want.

What do you guys think? Would this be a waste of time or something you guys think that everyone would just avoid using?

The Server Boards are kinda used for this. I know that someone asked and received help for Titan HM on our server board.

I think it's a waste of time. Ever try doing a shout for a required service (melding, etc) in a populated town? You'll get 4-5 tells in seconds. Having to set up a post on a board really just seems like more time.

Not to mention the possible abuse of RMT to advertise their 'services' - shout spam from them is bad enough. A help board would only give them free reign.

Saw your PF post last night Hashirama. It works well, provided people know where to look.

    ^ agreed
Party finder is a good addition that was added so it can be used for that purpose.
Even seen people post fishing parties, lol

I've long advocated for something similar to the OP's suggestion -- but specifically for Crafters and Gatherers.

Here's how it would work (for crafting)

A Player would talk to NPC at the respective guild and submit the following items:

    1) All Materials required for the recipe.
    2) A reward for normal completion and optional HQ bonus
    3) The # of fail's allowed, and an appropriate Gil "Insurance" fee for each failure. This is so mats aren't lost if Crafter fails.
    4) A minimum crafter's level/ilvl for acceptance.

After these conditions are met, the Guild posts the request on a board (or has a 'Leve' NPC menu).

Crafters can then accept the request, craft the item(s), and receive the reward based on success and HQ rate. The NPC will automatically hold the finished item(s) for the original player to pick up at their leisure.

This sort of system allows for wide growth in crafting as U/U mats can now be used to craft weapons and armor. It allows people to request things that might not be readily available in the market boards, and it also solidifies the Crafting Guilds as the hub of their industry.

Obviously this system can also be used for gathering with minor alterations.

I like this idea in the form of immersion. It would connect players on a tangible level and could be used to send messages to offline players.
