    Welcome changes to pet commands!

    http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...91ba3f787720f1

I see 2 things that make me excited:

    1. You don't have to select an enemy to put pets into stances.
    2. I hope that "Eos and Selene will now continue to follow their owners even when switching between the Sic and Obey commands" means pets can still be controlled even in Sic stance. So I can have Selene autocast Glow/Light while continuing to macro Embrace with my Physick/Adlo.

    Also, ready check, woot!

    The first change makes me extremely happy. Every time I died in T4, I would have to ask my party to wait a moment before pulling so that my pet wouldn't blow all her CDs on the pull. (My static OT likes to stand in the middle to pull the moment the CS ends.) X.X;

I don't know about you, but I always frantically spam my keybind for Obey anyway, while I have a hostile NPC targeted as I see the Summon -castbar is going out, should I be swapping a summon mid-combat! (And then instantly hitting the keybind for Heel). Never has my fairy blown any CDs that way. (And I do this frequently, eg. starting off with Selene when solohealing Garuda EX, then swapping to Eos after the first reckoning etc.)

Buuuut that's just semi-offtopic anyway - I love this update, though there were already work-arounds for everything. I'm digging the changes anyway, though they will not impact my playing at all apart from not camping a NPC upon (re-)summoning a fairy. =P

    -------
EDIT: what actually made me the most glad was this tidbit:

When using the Sic or Obey commands while a pet is moving, queued actions will not be canceled if no other commands are given.

...while it was extremely rare, I still sometimes missed out on a WD, if I re-positioned my Fairy (assuming placed) as I was manually casting WD, or if it was on Heel (always on Obey), if it covered a great distance to me as I hit a WD - it would get canceled out a few times. Granted, knowing it could/would happen made me adjust my playing so that it would not happen, but now it sounds like it simply won't happen.

    • The period during which players are unaffected by curative magic after being revived has been reduced.
    • The Sic and Obey pet commands can now be activated without a target present. Furthermore, pets will remain set to either command even when re-summoned.
      * Upon logging out, pets will revert to Sic by default.
    • When using the Sic or Obey commands while a pet is moving, queued actions will not be canceled if no other commands are given.
    • Eos and Selene will now continue to follow their owners even when switching between the Sic and Obey commands.
    • Eos and Selene can now use Embrace on non-party members when set to Obey.
    • Summoner and Scholar are now counted as separate jobs when determining the speed at which the limit break gauge is filled.
    All of this is awesome!

I have had waaaaay too many tanks start a pull after a wipe while I'm still re-summoning a fairy. Obey remaining set makes me want to weep with joy.

Eos and Selene can now use Embrace on non-party members when set to Obey.
I hope there's a priority system for this, so it goes you > party members > Lparty member pets > alliance members/other players/other pets/NPC(?). Otherwise it may actually be pretty inconvenient.

The pet changes have made me so happy (\^_^/)

T4 was annoying to start at times, since my tanks just liked to rush in and I had to click on obey like crazy and just prey she didn't do anything foolish >.>

Guess what, WD is still delayed while moving. Also Fey Illumination has a hard animation delay after it so FI > WD is noticeably slower. Also using Heel will still cancel a cast.

    Thanks for nothing SE.

Of course WD is delayed while moving, it has a cast time and you can't cast a spell with a cast timer while moving. There was absolutely nothing in the patch notes that said using heel would not cancel a cast. Putting a pet on heel while casting should cancel the cast imo
