Macro Question Targeting

Hi there,

I would like to figure out whether there is a specific macro available.
When attempting Garuda EX, as an OT you are responsible for keeping Spiny Plume on you for a while. When Spiny spawns, a lot of other plumes spawn too and trying to tab targeting through all enemies takes some sweet time.

I tried playing a bit with macro-ing the targeting and I am wondering if there is a way to automatically target Spiny and then Shield Lob or Provoke it.

Outside a dungeon I managed to come up with this macro which seems to do the job:

/target "add name here"
/ac "Provoke" <t>

This works wonderfully with NPCs or other players but as soon as I am in a Dungeon it fails. I tried switching to /targetenemy and so on.....but nothing seems to work. Even when facing Spiny in the Garuda arena, the macro does not seem to recognize it and it fails.

Now, anyone knows if there is a way to automatically target an enemy? I simply just wanna press a button and the macro should choose the target that I named in the macro as my actual target.

Unfortunately this doesn't work. Although there is only one spiny plume onscreen at once, imagine your macro was for "Razor Plume". How would the game know which one you wanted? It works on players and NPCs because they're unique. I suggest using your mouse and clicking the spiny in your monster list. Much faster than tabbing.

Well, yeah. That's why I thought it might be possible as it is a "unique" plume among all of the plumes. But I see where you're coming from. Too bad. I am playing with a PS3 controller, so using the mouse is a bit awkward. But thanks for the answer!

Think their /targetenemy command not sure if putting name in will do anything to target specific mob though.

Press R1+keypad up or down to cycle through the enemy enmity list just like how u press up or down to cycle through the party list
