    Suggestion : PC or PS3

    Hello,
I've started playing ffxiv arr a month ago on my laptop, but now I'm thinking to buy a ps3 to play smoothly. My laptop is a Dell xps l501x (here specs http://www.notebookcheck.it/Dell-XPS...D.43125.0.html ), the score with benchmark is 2300-2500 (standard performance).
Would u suggest me to upgrade to ps3 (I would use k&m wireless)? I've tried to search on the Web, but I've found too many different (opposite!) opinions. I know an high end PC is better, but I atm I can't waste too many money , I just want know which one is better, my laptop or ps3.
    Thanks for your answer

PS3 will probably be better than a laptop but it's still not fantastic. It's playable but not incredibly smooth and if you don't have an SSD there are other issues like in FATES etc. I play on PS3 at the moment and it is tolerable but as I say not fantastic. The best thing would be PS4 as it's a sort of middle ground money-wise and will supposedly run the game very smoothly, however again there is that money issue of getting a ps4.

PS3 version looks and runs like ass. The move to that platform would not be an upgrade. Either wait for the PS4 version or save your cash for a decent midrange PC (can max this game just fine on $400 or so).

    Ps3 cost $200 Dolars. Have FPS varations 18 - 30 frames.

Ps4 $400. Game Locked 30 FPS and use only "Some effects dx11" (Yoshi-P had said this ver would run 60 FPS and 1080p -_-)

    A Mid range Gaming pc $450 - $550.

    R7 260X 40 - 60 FPS 900P High graphic quality.
    R7 270 45 - 60 FPS 1080P High graphic quality.

    Video Card R7 270 2 GB Vram. $200 or R7 260X $119
AMD A-Series A10-6800K Accelerated Quad core Processor. $129
    ADATA DDR3 1600, 4GB RAM. $34
Computer Case with 500 Watts power supply included $60
    Mother Board $50
SSD Kingston Digital 120GB $77 or HDD 500 GB $49

If you dont have over $400 go for the ps4 ver but save for a pc in my opinion "worth" the money.

Watch this video is a Test of Frames per second on ps3. (I have Two ps3 and i love Sony machine but avoid this ver if you can.)

As a Ps3 user i would recommend. You just use your laptop on the game unless, the game is crashing for you on. There better HUD features on the PC ver. Just hook up your labtop to a your tv and then Just get a cheap xbox wired controller and works just like the PS3, Or can use other controllers just the xbox wired controller almost plug and play. PS3 version runs ok , but you will notice power wise it really outdated for this game. Long loading times, and if in city take awhile to render or if to many mobs on the screen takes awhile to render, If you get a high end Solid State Drive PS3 little better, but PS4 almost same price and should be way better.

as a PS3 user i would not recommend. My PC friends have little to no load times, while i'm awkardly stuck in the loading screen while they wait for me. It lags in some fates, and often certain enemies might not load at all. The graphics are definitely not like what the PC people get. I also often crash alot. It's a new PS3 and hasn't done that with any other games. If you can afford to get a new computer to run it do it, but a PS3 is running bare minimum it seems like.

Edited: Odin fate still sucks so much on PS3

This video is completely different from videos by square Enix ("tours of eorzea" shows ps3 gameplay), the mobs animations look strange (I don't know how to describe it). I've read that playing on ps3 with a hdmi cable improve the graphics... Is it true?
In my country (italy), ps3 is selling for 120 euro this is why I'm thinking to buy it! What should I do?

The PS3 animations are weird and choppy, you can tell it isn't 30fps most of the time. PS4 version will most likely be 60fps, they mentioned somewhere that they are making adjustments to make it 60fps. They also said it would run like a top end PC can now, obviously PC technology will advance more than PS4 will over the years but for now it will match PC. Again the PS4 option would be the best medium however its considerably more than a PS3.

It's all preference really and how tolerable you are to certain things, also how bad your laptop currently is. If it's already tolerable then you're better off staying with the laptop instead of going for ps3.

Your laptop should be able to run the game fairly well. My laptop has a core i5 450M and a geforce 310M and I can push about 20ish frames in low populated areas with low-medium settings on the newest beta drivers from nvidia for my GPU (334.67). An i7 and 435m should be able to push quite a bit more than my crappy laptop. That said, the lowest settings on PC (aside from shadows) still looks better than the PS3 version. And you won't have the same frame rate limits set on NPC and other player character animations (it's choppy on the PS3 since they had to dumb it down with a very limited amount of RAM to work with).

I mainly play on PS3 because of my frame rate issues, but your laptop can likely play the game, if you don't get heat issues.

Just wait and get a ps4, that is the best/cheapest option.
