So about the contests...why

I know that not everyone has one already, but why is it always the Arhiman choker as a prize?


It's a cool looking item, but it will just sit around for 6 months until vanity comes out.

I was wondering if other people wanted new prizes, or should it just be always Arhiman chokers until everyone has one?

Kinda makes it less special of a prize right?

It's a very small amount of people that actually participate in the contests. If it's not exclusively done in-game, it will always be a small amount of participants. That being said, I don't think it's really an issue. These contests are not needed and are there only for those who choose to participate. If the rewards are something you do not fancy, don't bother to do it. The choker is still rare enough to be something people can get excited for. In fact, I doubt it will ever reach an "uncommon" status, even if every participant got one (which would take years). The reason being what I had said; only a small percentage of people actually participate.

I want them to keep offering the Ahriman Choker as a reward for a long time or at least make it something you can get ingame during some other event. Yeah, that's what they should do, make the item a reward for a few months, then a few months after that they can make it obtainable in some event, then they can start offering a different item as a reward. That way we can all get one but the winners get to have it for a few months before everyone else.

I already have one, an other winners also, so I just don't really participate in them anymore because it's the same prize, can't really use two of them for anything.

The Itenerant Moggle sells them later on. It's how I got those cactar and bomb earrings.

I'd like a variety just because I already have my Ahriman choker. So there is no reason for me to participate in the contests anymore, which is a shame :/

I highly recommend that they do it in future same as sesional events!

1) Special item once a Contest
2) Special Contest once again with same item once a year
3) Not too many Contest

If they truly like to give them away, then they should adjust the WINNER numbers and not giving the same item for an other Contest.
The main purpose is to lure players onto the forums. That does not work always, just alone from the time it needs to prepare.

But then that would be like what they did with FFXI and we can't have that. The one time it was related to the contest was during 1.x era.

If you are already in possession of an Ahriman Choker and happen to have won another one (or want to try and win another one in an upcoming contest ), we'll be allowing you to have it sent to another character on your account if you wish.

If you've already received a second one, first please toss it. After you do that you can contact a GM from the in-game support desk and let them know the World and character you’d like to have the Ahriman Choker sent to. Once you've confirmed the character is on your account, we'll deliver the item to the other character.

On a side note, we've prepared new community event items to be used in contests in the future, so please look forward to the participating!
