on my blm and smn, i use and eye for an eye macro, and for scholar i use a virus macro... that's about it for me

i've considered making tt macros for my scholar's DoTs, but it's not really a huge deal

I use <tt> on WHM for Aero and Stone 2 to lessen target switching...but hadn't thought of using it for E4E on DPS classes (I really should though). As for SCH Virus, I should do that too, BUT with the antibodies buff, you have to check that the target isn't immune first...so you have to target them anyway :/

Hmm, if you use the <f> tag on Virus and set high-priority targets as your focus(Bosses and heavy hitters) you can see how long Antibodies has left without ever leaving your main-priority target. Not to mention you wont muck it up when the tank decides he wants to switch targets.

To those who responded to me, marking is really only beneficial pre-lvl 50 content, I agree. There isnt much i mark in raids groups, but I will still mark Haukke/Copperbell HM, AK, Pharos. If you dont need to Mark in order to take aggro early on, great for you.

But, remember that you are making an example for newer players. Not every tank (most tanks even) are good tanks that know how to maintain all aggro without marking, and if your "new to the game" DPS is hitting whatever they want to hit, they are being taught wrong, and will potentially screw things up for future party members. As a leader (which a tank is), it is preferred you Mark. can only make things easier. if you dont have the room to mark, theres a good 1 button macro for that I can share.

I use target of target all the time, especially as a healer to precast heals on a DPS that pulls threat or if I'm a DPS that pulls threat I switch to the tanks target. It's a really useful tool.

I've lost count of the macro setups i use as a dps atm.. Most of my brd ones are all doubletarget macros, meaning i have 1 set of lines as <t>, and a second set of the same ones as <tt>, so i don't accidently over tab onto something sleeping/not to kill during content, a good example is eggs on zu in pharos. lost count of how many times i've overtabbed and pegged an egg. so made a macro so i won't ever overshoot, just target tank and keep hitting same buttons. works out quite well for content like garuda X too, for avoiding sniping the spiny on accident. If anyone is interested i can post how they are laid out, because i'm guessing my wording was a bit confusing..

I use <tt> on my healer, but I don't use ToT on my DPS classes. I just follow the tank, and 90% of the time, the first enemy my tab key selects is also the first enemy the tank's tab key selects, so I'm on target most of the time by default. For the rare exceptions, I just switch when I see which one's taken shield lob/tomahawk damage.

I tend to abide by target of target as a gamepad user. If the party is all over the place in terms of what they want to do, I sometimes use a DPS for target of target, then burn that enemy down sooner, while watching my hate to make sure I don't overtake the other DPS or best case, overtake the tank.

From a tank perspective, if an enemy's position is key (its AoE) and such, I may just use my enmity bar to determine which enemy or enemies need to come back to me. If a few GCDs won't kill the DPS and I have to make the choice of recovering hate against a DPS hero or making sure I have hate on the remaining enemies, I'll choose the latter.
