[Another] Event Suggestion: "Festival of the Hunt!"

A friend an I had considered the following as a potential event in FFXIV:ARR based on our previous experiences.

Basically; the premise is that adventurers would participate in the hunt, killing off monsters that have been released throughout the city

...You must have been a 1.0 player Especially if you're on Excalibur.

This sounds...a lot like...the end of an era (end of 1.0) After the final save...when GMs would appear and give us super buffs for dancing with them as they sang "Never gunna give you up" and rick rolling us as we died to dozens of Chimeras running rampant in Ul'dah.

Then they'd tell us not to pray to the mobs, because we'd die. And I would troll unsuspecting players and tell everyone to pray to the mob, and just watch everyone fall over dead. Lmao

Ah I miss that. That was so eerily fun and sad at the same time. Picture that if this world were real: people give up trying to kill these Lv?? chimeras all in Ul'dah..so they start praying to them. It's actually quite sad D:

...And then a GM comes out and dances on your dead body and super buffs everyone with buffs I didn't even realize were in 1.0 because we never got to see or use them XD

I would like to see a lot of old stuff from 1.0 come back, like all the cool achievements it offered, gil from dead bodies, gil from quests as achievements, amount of side quests done. New levequests that are more innovative then "Kill 4 of dem, come back and get reward". It'd be so coool

Like the job-specific faction leves that were part of the old relic quest?

You know, maybe it could be done in the actual cities (not instances made to look like the cities), but the mobs only attack people who have signed up for the event. I know even if I didn't want to participate, it would be exciting to watch it happen.

Honestly, I, personally, wouldn't mind if the event was just open and people just had to be careful in the city for a few minutes, but I forsee lots of people having a problem with that.
