The thing that annoys me but I see why it does not work is the fact that 'last target' macros do not work with <mo>.

/targetnpc /tnpc targets the closest monster.

I know that one. But what I want is slightly varied. For example, if I'm tanking and lose hate from a mob that runs and starts attacking the DPS, /tnpc will just grab the other (usually lower numbered :P) mob right in front of me. I want to be able to target that mob that ran off.

Tried it. Nothing happened. Don't think there is any form of select target in this game. All those placeholders worked up to <8> (0 and 1 are both for your character). Even if it worked it still wouldn't be ideal cover and apocatastasis as examples can only be used on party members so you'd want it to target them specifically. So targeting PC's wouldn't help in, say, a FATE.

Though I would want <stpc> aswell it could be useful for example in a cure macro when your weapon is drawn for curing people outside your party.

The entire macro system is kind of meh... Just wait till the addon system comes out and someone makes a better macro system (assuming it will let us make a better one)....

We should be able to have as many lines as we want. And they should be threaded in such a way that we can run a macro without cancelling one that is already running.

Right now it appears that if I have a countdown macro on Death Sentence on Twintania and then use my Provoke macro, the timer on Death Sentence stops etc, very annoying.

Also there should be a text to speech engine on them, so we can do something like /tspk "Provoke is Ready" and we here it as well as see it in /ECHO

Really what they need to do is give addon makers access to LUA and let us make UI components in XML like in World Of Warcraft. With that we could easily make our own macro system that get's by all the annoying limitations of the current one.
