SMN and Ifrit X questions

Hey, I recently got to Ifrit x mode finally. I had two questions, first is there a good place to put your pet so it doesn't die? Secondly what can I do to max my dps on nail phases? I feel as though I'm not doing enough dmg in those parts of the fight.

1) Nope. I try to put him at ~10 o'clock, so he can avoid getting pushed into the middle by charges and then getting hit by all of them, and it helps avoid eruptions, but he will likely get hit by a searing wind or 10. You're going to have to heal it a lot regardless of where you put it.

2) DoT like crazy. On the first set, just dot twice. (Bio2 + Bio1) On the third set, use Bio2 + Miasma1 + Bio1, and Bane on the sets of 2 nails. And try to DoT nails ahead of where your DPS are killing them, so they have time to tick. You can also DoT nails in the opposite direction that your group is killing them, to ensure you get full DoT duration on the nails you do DoT.

Place garuda in the back where you first start out. During hellfire, place garuda in the center. When he goes to do the charges put garuda on heel. After the charges place garuda in the back.
