Whereas when I shout and form my own parties, I actually have to communicate with whom I'm inviting prior to, at least giving me an idea of what kind of player they are.
I guess you're forgetting the fact that, World of Warcraft, the single most successful MMO to date (whether we all love or hate it), uses a dungeon grouping system that doesn't allow you to choose in the slightest who you go with... And 99 times out of 100, it works fine. You simply enter a queue that places you with 4 other people at random, from the same or different servers who are all seeking to run that dungeon. Keep in mind that the FFXIV dev team has also said they intend to make a system very similar to this, as well, for the future of instanced content.

Guess you won't be doing them, then?

Not to mention, as the party leader, you can always just kick the person who joined your group that you don't want. And if they join again? Well... Kicking isn't that hard to do. Or just leave them in the group til you get all the people you want, THEN kick them, and close recruitment. Either way.

1010 is the approximate year the Vikings first came to America.

First and foremost, the WoW Dungeon Finder is different on many levels when compared to the FF14 party search. This takes away accountability for actions, especially with a cross-server platform. Not to mention high queue times for anyone not playing Tank/Heals. As well, the dungeon finder tool is not used by people raiding, only by solo grinding dungeons for whatever reason. Raiding is still formed at the community level. Not to mention you ignored my inherent points about why the tool is not used, and it has nothing to do with WoW's option, it has everything to do with the fallible implementation of FF14's system.

Yeah i really think that the Dev's need to throw in a /sea all type function or something. because as it sits, grouping to grind exp just doesnt happen ever. there are some people that do it occasionally on raptors late in the game but not as much as i would like to see throughout.

Actually you can invite people from your server and choose who you play with from your sever, but any unfilled slots are random people from other servers. which is cool i like playing with people from other servers too, its more intresting.

Was so easy... logged in game, open menu click on seek party... got invites and sent invites... few minutes and the party was ready to go!
    and the /sea all command.....
Now doesnt work this new useless system.... doesnt work at all. i used it... but is too random... i wanna search ppl (/sea all) and choose them! i dont like wait for someone to pop random in party.
Please fix those things. i wanna lvl up not die in town shoutin in the wind...

Menu -> Party -> Recruit -> Purpose: Seek Invite -> Your comment

Menu -> Party -> Search -> Purpose: Seek Invite -> Select Class

System works but need more things like Level filter and allow Class: All

When this work, then add command chats like FFXI and we will be happy
