I couldn't agree more! Nothing is more frustrating then being expected to do "research" or "homework" on every fight and learn it BEFORE you even get there! Heaven forbid you want to have the fun/experience of learning in game! No one wants that anymore. If you die everyone either rage quits, or starts name calling and so on. I think way too many people have lost sight of the fact that the point of the game *is* to have fun.

There was a time when people would stop before any fight and ask if people were new and then explain and walk them through and help, but those days seem mostly gone. Rare now is the day when you can even finish a PUG group run with the same group you start with because people rage quit or leave as soon as they get what they were after. Of course, that is after you actually get *in* from all of the trolls and the dozen times of clicking on commence.

I think they need to put a much steeper penalty in place for abandoning a duty or withdrawing from the duty finder as soon as it loads. I also feel there really needs to be an option to dismiss players for "unsportsmanlike behavior" and report them easily for the same (especially in CT, which seems to be the worst place for it and conversely there should always be the option to give a commendation for extremely helpful behavior, a reward all its own for helping new people and fostering a good gaming environment). Report to the GM is not easy in those situations, if it was easier to do so (so where you could click on a name to do so and it would send in a report with a snippet of text from the 5 minutes before??) community pressure might well fix a lot of the issues.
