We won on the first try. ^^ If you go in without telling that new guy what to do you would probably fail and keep failing over and over, specially if that person is using an important role like a healer for such fight.
And for the response, you get the healer that refuses to listen and wants to learn it himself.... except he doesn't. I've seen both, but the latter pushes you away from wanting to help anyone. If everyone, or most everyone was as you say, many fights in DF wouldn't be nearly as bad as they are.

The very first people to ever run the content didn't have a guide or video to work with. Somehow they were smart enough to get through the fight. Also, no matter how many times you watch a video does not guarantee someone can do it. A new person can watch a video on dodging landslide all they want...doesn't mean they will dodge it when they do it for real. That comes with experience, which means wiping a few times for someone to get it down. Just because you personally have downed the content doesn't mean you should now expect everyone to do it correctly. This has been the mentality I've seen lately, especially from elitists and it's very irritating.

I agree that there are some people who will never get it, but being patient with new players while they figure it out doesn't seem that difficult.

Level 1 to Ifrit HM + Crystal Tower: no need for preparation. Enjoy.

Ultima HM, Garuda HM to Extreme Modes + Coil: Watch a damn video and pull your own weight.

The concept is still the same. The person isn't learning anything on their own and is being spoonfed the encounter one way or another. If they can't learn anything from reading it whether it be a guide or party chat (or even video), it's gonna be a pain train no matter what so all you can do in that situation is either kick the person/leave the party or deal with it as they learn the encounter with their faces.

Because someone else suffered when you had to learn? if that's what you call it lol.

To all the People who say Dont sneak into a party why dont you ask about the fight bla bla bla, well look at it like this, how many parties are out there that say noobs are welcome or how bout its okay we will teach you the mechanics or oh this is my favorite 1 death equals kick.
maybe if people were more willing to teach and not shame those who dont know how to do fights maybe then people woud ask to learn and not try to sneak in. but no of course you just bad mouth or flame those who dont even know how to do it. yes videos do help alil. but they dont help alot.
if you really think about it those who want to learn or those who try to sneak in are afraid to say they are new or can you teach me this fight because everyone is on a lynching party directed at noobs.

how bout spread the knowledge that you have accumulated over your time playing, and i promise you youll see alot more people who know what the hell to do.
and a last note cause i know some1 is going to say it in response to my post. there are people who are just lazy and want a carry but not everyone is like them i have met alot of players that i have helped and taught that i actively raid with now. people are willing to learn you just gotta be willing to teach ^^ Happy Hunting

You're even more likely to get kicked if you lie about knowing the fight when it becomes immediately apparent that you don't. I've never kicked someone for saying they didn't know the fight, but I have no trouble removing someone from the party that lied to my face and caused a wipe because they didn't know what they were doing and weren't honest about it.

It's a two-way street. More educated player should be more willing to teach newbies, but newbies should be more willing to ask for assistance. I can't read minds and if I ask if everyone knows the encounter and they all say yes or don't respond at all I'll assume they don't need an explanation.

That's great. I already figured the content out. As a tank, why should I die repeatedly just to help someone else learn?
Attitudes like that are why MMOs are so toxic, do others a favor and never join a DF or roulette group.

watching video personally only help me once I have tried.
I watched the twintania video many time before going in.... no clue what to do once inside.
Watching it after going through the phases made sense.

I am sure I am not the only one like this. I need to try first and then, if wipe or blocking point, check.
Checking before does not help, won't remember once in the actual dungeon.
