    Please fix Skill Speed.

    It could be one of the most fun stats but instead its just annoying. No one likes its... no one wants it... everyone tries to get rid of it. If you want proof just check market prices for quickarm materia. The only materia that sells for less is elemental and str/dex/int/mnd.

    All that needs to be done is add a small TP bonus with SS.

    With the next tier of gear there is a good chance monks are going to be having major issues because of SS. I don't think the other physical damage jobs will be really happy with it. Any new ilvl increases after 2.2 will really suck.

    Here's how to fix Skill speed:

    Red Mage/White Mage/Scholar/Green Mage/Blue Mage/Geomancer form of Haste.

    Done. Otherwise yoshi seems to be against a "true" type of haste because in XI it was a main TP stat, much like here the main stat plenty go for is crit (DRG/SCH/WAR/Some WHMs etc.)

    It was my understanding DET was the go to stat for most classes.

    Det is useless, Crit is much better to itemize for.

    EDIT: I should probably clarify just in case of a misunderstanding. I don't mean Det is useless as a stat, I mean it's useless to itemize for as a main stat. The equipment just doesn't give enough of it and it's much easier to get crit without sacrificing other stats.

    Haste would be nice for short fights with time to recover TP in between, but for drawn out fights it would just burn out the TP of tanks, and physical dps would run out a little bit later due to invigorate. But blms have an endless MP pool, so they would destroy all other dps for long fights.

    unless there's a skill cap, I'm sure skill speed is incredibly useful after they raise the level cap. When we talk about skill speed/spell speed, we are talking about 1/x where x is approaching to 0.

    They're going to have to raise it awfully high to make spell speed useful. At level 50 my Stone I is sitting at 2.43 Cast/Re-Cast. When I was level 1 it was 2.5. That is a 0.0014s reduction per level. Extrapolation says I'll need to be level 358 before I make it under 2 seconds.

    That's not how skill speed/spell speed works. Your 341 base value at level 50 does absolutely nothing, after that every ~25 you add reduces GCD and casting times by 1%. As an example you need around 590 to get 10% off.

    That's assuming it's linear - if it functions anything remotely like Haste did in FFXI, then it will actually get more potent the more you have.

    I already made a thread about this a few days ago but basically I feel what we need to do is go back to how TP worked originally (screw PvP) and have it build up with auto-attacks, and have skill speed affect your auto-attack speed (which would be a massive boost for MNK & WAR).


    Someone also suggested having TP recover proportionate to your SS, like how MP does with Piety but I'd rather it buff AA speed since that way it still technically increases the rate you fire off your WS at, but also directly increases your dps rather than artificially inflating it through more TP spam.
