The right server for an EST time player?

Title says it all. What is a good EST time server...?

I know Leviathan has a fairly large EST player-base. The peak player count seems to be between 7pm-12pm EST. Other players may tell you more about their server.

As you realize, there is no way of knowing which servers are EST because they don't make that distinction on the server designation screen. That said, individual servers do have times when more players are active.

Assuming your goal is endgame, there are two locations to travel to if you want to find out on your own: Revenants Toll and Wineport. Once there, pay attention to the ambient noise level (ranges from quiet murmur to a bustling din depending on number of players around you) and player-count. The player shouts should also give you a rough sense of the community as well, although they frankly all sound the same to me.

Revenants Toll is the main spot for players attempting to recruit for Lv.50 content. Most players end up there to exchange tokens or to gear up for endgame. To travel to "Revenants Toll" safely, you will probably want a Chocobo and to be at least lvl30, as there are many high-level aggressive enemies along the way. Travel from New Gridania -> West -> North Shroud -> NW -> Coerthas -> SW -> Mor Dhona.

If you can't get there because of low level, Wineport in East La Noscea is best. It is the entry point for the most difficult endgame raid, Coil of Bahamut . You will unlock airship travel at lvl15 to travel to Limsa if you want. Travel from: Limsa -> East -> Middle La Noscea -> NE -> Wineport to reach there. There are some level 10 aggressive monsters along the way, but it should not be a problem. Just look at the eastern gate of Wineport. That will give you an approximation of how many players and raid groups are running endgame at your preferred time. Try to visit between Monday and Tuesday for the most accurate assessment. Those are the peak days for raiding.

Marlboro seems to have a lot of EST players and is very active usually between 4p and Midnight or so.
