[Suggestion] Introduce Raid Leader in-game Parser.

I actually hate parser's. I feel like it takes the fun out of playing a game, and often fosters a negative competitive, and at times, even an elitist attitude towards other players or classes.
Not to mention, all classes are not created equal in terms of dmg output, so all a parser really does in my opinion is measure how much your character's damage was and give the highest dps some bragging rights. (Which is pretty much the same concept as measuring e-peens, isn't it?)

It's just my opinion though, I could care less if it was put into the game, I just wont like eventual negative side effects it would have.

I absolutely 100% guarantee that people are more than willing to harass other players for any perceived lack of performance, parsers or no.

Parsers just make the harassment more accurate and less pipe-dream.

Even with the hardest content avaliable in this game, there's no reason for this to exist.

There's nothing worse than an MMO boiling down to an excel chart. Min-Maxers have their own devices for dealing with this -- make an FC and keep it to yourself. This is nowhere close to being a priority for SE, and that's even if they would consider doing it in the first place...


You're literally asking for an easier means of which to justify pointing fingers and kicking players from your party. Sorry, that can do absolutely nothing good for any community.

My reasons to be against parsers (based on experiences in other games):

1 - I don't want to be under the watch of strangers, posting in chat the raid dps after each trash pull, like it already happens.
2 - If without much information on the screen players already mess up mechanics, imagine if they go all "omg omg omg, must keep my DPS high!". (this one already happens, too!)
3 - If i wanna perfection, I stay with my static only. If I PuG then I have to expect more of a random skill lvl from the random players that will join my group. If I start policing everybody's performance I will start joining more blacklists than RMT's.

PS: if you don't wanna PuGs to "waste your time", don't PuG.
PPS: Many ppl are openly admitting to use parsers in this thread, I suggest you guys to edit your posts. :P

Yeah..it does amaze me how 90% of the posters did not bother to read the OP. Each assumes what he/she wants to go ahead with their soap opera story. This is really unreasonable, dismiss the idea before even reading. Take post #31 for example, posts reasons that were already accounted for in the OP, yet....sigh.

Definitely NO to this. Also DPS arent afraid of anything cuz they always blame Tanks or Healers when things go bad. The only thing I wish is that SE stop making more and more DPS test/runs fights like Ultima, Thornmarch, ALL Extremes, Titan HM, Coil 4 and 5.

If i cause something to go wrong i always take the blame. I never pass blame.

Though there are bad players who should be told, "Please you need to dodge" or "Our dps seems really low.." too many people abuse parsers. The only time I hear people talk about parsers in my pt it's to call out someone or kick them and call then names. Theres just too much abuse for it. -IF- I had one (not saying I do) I would use it to test -my- skills to the rest of the party and I think what SE was getting at is thats okay, however kicking someone saying they sucked or were lowest parse is where SE can see it as abusing. I was even once called out for a bad parse because during titan ex as a BLM I had to move and cancel too many spells. More often then not I join a group do ok ( i think) and some other DPS is called on it and kicked out.

We all want to win and a bad player can hold a team back but ive seen better results trying to help that person know how to get better then telling them to uninstall and making fun of them before you kick them. These people deserve to be reported for harassment and if it leads to a ban well, they kinda deserved it.

I wonder how many people that want to run parsers are or have been in upper management (and likely are terrible). You can run numbers all day but unless you have the logic and knowledge to identify issues outside of your spreadsheet you may as well use it for toilet paper. Every good leader knows that you need to communicate with your team when things seem amiss, everyone has an off day sometimes or can use some handy advise.

I've met extremely few people who are responsible enough analyze data from a parser and make valid objective points with said information. SE will like never endorse one and they are far more likely to make this community more toxic than it has already become.
