FFXIV parser/DPS meter

I do not like the idea of Parsers. the reason why is simple. The community it all comes down too that. The community wants too be able too have these and use them too find the weakest link in the party. and then kick then. I find this a form of Harassment. how would you like it being in let's say Titan Hard battle for your relic. The group has issues with damage too the heart. next thing you see is a vote too abanddon and poof your kicked from party with no word. or running CT.. and next thing you know your sitting back in town cause you did not meet the groups standards. this is harassment and not allowed by the ToS. I know people are saying it is for personal reasoning and to help them be better at the job. But it is only human nature too abuse these things. It has happened in many MMOs to date. Lets not have it or allow it in FF. thank you

I'd love to get ACT to work. I'd have much more reason to despair over melee's DPS in Titan EX where most of farm groups can't even get Titan to lift his ass in the second phase until he drops the first set of bombs. That said, aggro bars are currently good enough for me.

If a healer's above me in aggro chart, it's either me underperforming or healer zealously overhealing. If more than one melee DPS is still below me after 2 min mark with a small downtime, they're underperforming. Honestly, if I'm at the second place in aggro in 8-man content the whole fight, not just the opener, something's pretty wrong with the group.

Parsers are needed. It's just a tool. If you are afraid that someone will use the tool to point out that you are underperforming, the answer to that is: perform better. It's that simple in life, it's that simple in games. I agree that no one is allowed to be abusive and that's what the report functions are for, but that's a poor excuse to keep tools out of the hands of responsible users.

No one is kicking someone out of a party for a 10-30 dps difference. They will kick you for a 100-200 dps difference and honestly, if you are underperforming THAT much you are being Carried.

That's another form of harassment. I don't want to Carry you and you do not have the right to decide not to learn the game and perform so that you can be lazy and force me and others to Carry you. And then argue against parsers so that no one finds out you are being Carried.

If you are not performing up to expected standards or you are the weakest link, you should by every right be removed from the group. You are spoiling other peoples enjoyment of the game. If you need more time to practice and learn, then by all means go ahead and do this. But you do NOT have the right to hold back other players and their enjoyment of the game.

All the same I personally have been kicked while on my Mch while doing Titan HM as a roulette and having wiped only ONCE. If some players want to check their own DPS fine and dandy but I have been in other MMOs where they can and will kick certain classes solely based on their DPS output or will kick a new player between pulls for not meeting the expected DPS for that class.

So in short I do not think parsers should be allowed to gather and read ALL info but I do think they should be able to be used and read that players DPS.

My justification is simple. EVERYONE should have a chance at doing all content even N00bs, Plebs, and the people that just want to play one class.

Parsers are against ToS on FFXIV because they don't want people judging others over doing 10-30 DPS lower against someone doing 100 DPS lower. This does not mean a carry if they are attempting THEIR BEST.

If they're trying their best, and the party wipes due to not meeting a DPS Check(i.e. Titan EX, Bismarck EX), then the best someone can do is give them tips, or if possible at the very least ask if they're on the same server so they can help them improve.
