In addition, a roused fairy casting embrace while you heal a tank can split your healing quite effectively when needed.
It depends on how much you can handle your information inflow. Fairy auto seems impervious to lag, and often much faster then you can blink, and she will not get interrupted because her AI controls her cast rate vs movement rate.

Wisper dawn is 15y radius so it was made with the fact that if you are even remotely in the range , they will probably get it. Sure timing is terrible, but it's really the idea of whether a sch can divide up their time perfectly

Focus heal is a hard factor to control, as rarely is there a focus healing aspect that forces a both a sch and a fairy to heal the same target at the same time. because Sch have lustre.

Once every 10 seconds is quite the exaggeration, but I've never had an issue playing this way and it's made it easier to me so I'll never see the appeal.

Then players can work at improving their skills until they are able to control both fairy heals/buffs and their own heals to an advantage. Just like any class, the more you play it and the more you try to improve your timing, movement and anticipation of mechanics the better a player you will be. Scholars should not be satisfied with being mediocre or ask SE to buff the class through pet mechanics because they are unable or unwilling to improve. The current pet mechanics are a great addition to our healing arsenal if utilized correctly. Heck, I would prefer the fairies not to even embrace by themselves on obey as I have had it screw up timing on WD. I would prefer it to be completely manual.

Better fairy management doesn't make anyone a better healer, scholar, or dodger.

It's is exclusive and in some cases pointless.

I would love for SE to give us semi-auto mode for pets, but's it's a toss up who has the better shoot out between a information overloaded sch that can pinpoint heal, or a full auto sch that can focus completely on the battle and trust their pet.

Haven't seen content that even comes close to needed a full manual fairy in 2.1 yet.

I've been using a middle-ground between total macro warfare and full-auto for my manual Embrace. Unlike most people it seems, I don't macro it to Physick. I do something like this

    /micon "Embrace" pet
    /pac "Embrace" <mo>
    /pac "Embrace" <f>
    /wait 2
    /pac "Embrace" <f>
    /wait 2
    /pac "Embrace" <f>
    /wait 2
    /pac "Embrace" <f>
    /wait 2
    /pac "Embrace" <f>
    /wait 2
    /pac "Embrace" <f>
    /echo <se.15> Reapply Embrace! <se.15>

I have 2 other versions with <2> and <3>, the latter used for things with heavy tank swapping where my focus target will be a non-tank (boss usually, or other healer in Ifrit EX).

The first line with <mo> is if I need to use this as a spambutton on any random party member. The remainder is devoted to healing the designated target. With /wait 2, roughly 3 of the Embraces will fire correctly before you need to reapply the macro. This also leaves a small window where fairy can still auto-cast. I've tried different /wait times; 1 only gets 2 off at best so it needs too much reapplying, 3 is just short because of the delay between pet receiving command and actually casting. You would need a significant amount of spell speed to force /wait 3 to work.

Is it maximum efficiency? Nope. But then I'd argue manual Embrace macros have never been needed to clear any current content.

That macro will likely fail if, during the slight gap between the macro time and the cooldown, any party member is below 80% and triggers an auto-heal. Plus, sometimes you might want the fairy on a different target because your idiot dragoon stood in an eruption when he wasn't supposed to.

I personally like the option to use Obey to designate targets. As long as you start fights with Steady already on you should be solid.

That's kind of the beauty of the macro though. It doesn't compromise fairy's auto-healing. Just supplements it with scattered "manual" Embrace. If you want to spam it on someone that isn't the target of the majority of the macro, that's what the <mo> part is for. Just hover and mash.

I don't think many sch worry about embraces. Sure it makes up for the down times, but endgame wise you are really more about using succor and aqu then about embrace. Phyisk is usually a spam-able thing, but ultimately the whm is the one that's going to be handling it with medica 2/regen

The thing that rattles most sch is the wispers which eos and selene is very suspect at with their AI. I personally don't think it's that big of a deal, as it doesn't really make you a better healer, since no content has ever required that as a critical make or break skill (unlike lustre).

Some people just like to think they are doing better by having timable skills, which I'm not quite sure if it ever affected the flow of the battle before.

The only area is Turn4 which I would have liked better eos/selene timing, but that's more team work then a healer battle.
