I'm not ignoring the part where you say you "don't care." I am, however, focusing on the part that always follows, where you say you hope they use "something more creative." I do consider your association of the word "raid" with Zerg->loot to be sad, though. Just a difference of opinion, I suppose.
I could be mis-remembering how often it was used. Obviously, I don't think I am, but, hey, human memory sucks. We could both be exaggerating our respective sides, and there'd be almost no way to tell. I will continue to assert, though, that it was used much more towards outsiders than it was towards other players.
Now, on to your first paragraph. . .
So, to be clear, you associate WoW with Zerg->loot, yet you claim that you never attached the terms to WoW. You then argue that XIV shouldn't have “raids” because that somehow also implies Zerg->loot. I fail to see how I'm putting words into your mouth at this point. You clearly say that “WoW disease” is Zerg->loot, and that FFXIV shouldn't have anything that's Zerg->loot. The fact is, I've already done more zerging in FFXIV than I ever did in WoW, so I don't see why we shouldn't have raids; especially since, and I hope you agree to this, raid doesn't really mean Zerg->loot. People just think it does.
