I agree with OP, I hope we're not just gonna' end up like WoW with raid/dungeon every patch. I much prefer stuff like dynamis, einherjar, assault etc.
hey we don't know exactly what will happen in these dungeons. OP is just talking about the terminology used for these events. I say we just keep calling them by their dungeon names ex: Toto-Rak, Dzemael. Those are unique names.
Retired FFXI character: Ranok of Sylph

There you go, puzzle solved! And since most people playing are previous XI players I highly expect this will be the case.

I have a pretty strong dislike for the WoW terms being used instead of FF terms. ._. Makes me cringe too.
Edit: Imagine if SE simply called Nyzul Isle, Dynamis, and Limbus "raids." Ugh.
I really am hoping this new content gets Final Fantasy names.

Yes.. Because in WOW they don't call raids or dungeons by their respective names. You know like ICC Blackwing etc... I swear have any of you people even played WOW before? You guys are complaining about stupid sh*t.
I think it's because there's no proper story like in XI that made you go through those dungeons also in XI they just happened to be permanent parts of the world.
Raids are more like shooting ranges of RPG fights to cater to north american audience that like simple stuff and form a large section of the target audience of XIV.
Of course Nyzul, Dynamis, etc were raids. By definition of how raids worked in every other MMO in the last 10 years it's defined by large groups of players tackling bosses either by strategy or zerg.
These new dungeons aren't raids. One hour time limit with a small group. It's a dungeon.
Where the horsebirds at?!

I don't get how people playing XIV could talk crap on XI players, when without them there wouldn't be XIV, they wouldn't of even though of making XIV without a moderately successful previous mmo. XI is still running and has run for almost a decade. There are things I absolutely hate about that game but XI was million times greater than this game, I'm sorry people can't handle not spamming endlessly, and like not partying until they hit max level. XI was directly inspired by EQ and the party based concepts in EQ were heavily in XI. People want that back, there is barely an mmo where partying is important. So if we talk about XI like its effing god father of mmos its because XI was the last great game in a lineage of harder party based mmos. It was literally EQ and then FFXI. EQII was easier. So what should we talk about like its the godfather or grandfather of mmos? WoW? RIft lol. DAoC? AoC? GW? No, EQ and FFXI, because they were directly based off of MUDs and they are revolutionary to MMOS. That's just history so read up or shut up, no one cares about the half garbled crap that mmos are now a days unless you're 15 get over it.
