No... Just no.
No... Just no.
Yes, just yes! Minion battles would be epic. Minions content in personal housing would be epic. Minion content in gold saucer would be epic. Minions in a dungeon would be fail.
this would awesome. it be like a game within a game that has no bearing on the main game, but could still server as a good gil sink or something =D
All battles would be won by people that spent $60 on chibi-bahamut.
Except, if they actually copied WoW properly in this area, the only rewards that minion battles would give would be more minions. Not everything needs to have progression styled rewards, sometimes fun is just fun.Considering Minions were stated by Yoshi himself to be useless and just to give a goal to casual players, that adds too much content to something that serves no purpose and would then force people to collect minions who never cared for them if the content offered rewards that's fairly decent.
I believe Yoshida commented on this once and said something along the lines of "Would you rather see two wind-up cursors fighting or magitek battles?" in regards to developmental resources.
It would be neat, though I wonder how the mechanics will work. Will you have direct control amd gcd? Or will they just attack automatically?
Yoshida says a lot of things, almost every bit of it is hype. He tells about how great things will be, he teases how much use a feature will get and then because we only have PR speak to go off of, the end product is almost always nothing like what he tried to sell us.
