Alright I do enjoy playing FFXIV and the encounters are unique but there is something really missing from boss encounters the fact that they don't have a personality and the lack of voice acting which would make the fights have a more foreboding feel and give them life of their own.

Take WoW for example(equips anti hater shield), raiding heroics in wow since I started in ICC I've loved the boss encounters there for one reason, they have personality and they actually address the raid.

Take the following voice clips from some fights, just a few examples of what brings life to an encounter.

Malygos - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnuyLoP-07I
Lord Marrowgar - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VowrR8zcmMY
Mimiron - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLVPUseb8Zk
Sindragosa - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEVs61zVUc8
Ragnaros - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYFUNjqEE3g
Algalon - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0e1cD7DJ54
Warmaster Blackhorn - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk2HFgAZsFo
Sha of Fear - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3nenJxF_C4

I mean cmon how awesome would it be to hear Ifrit bellowing his threats while he breaths fire upon your party, Garuda screeching while she buffets the raid with gale force winds, Titan's deep tone resonating through the cavern striking fear into all who dare enter the crag, ADS as an automated defense system reading lines initiating attack sequences and many of the other bosses in dungeons such as Siren.

Cmon SE you guys can do it, breath life into the encounters your players deserve it.
