I'd rather have a sleep, instead of a blind ability, for the next fairy. If the theme for SCH is mitigation, it'd fit by lessening the number of mobs wailing on your tank during dungeon runs without a THM/BLM.

You don't think so? I always considered not getting hit (evasion, binds, sleeps, los) 100% mitigation. Oh well. It might just be me then. :P
Even so, SCH is the only DoM without its own form of CC. Even SMN has tri-disaster. CC. Mitigation. Whatever. I'll take it over blind.

1. The number of Lv.50 classes/jobs you have says nothing about your skill.
2. FATEs are responsible for the majority of Lv.50 "derps".
3. Don't blame a healer if you died in red zones; that was all on you.
4. As a healer, healing is your top priority; DPSing comes second.
5. As a tank, your healer can only keep you alive for so long; avoid red zones, too.
6. As a DPS, you're partially responsible for hate management, too.
7. Don't belittle newbs for their lack of skill or knowledge; you were one of them once.
Why exactly do you think we were given Bliz 2?

Non scholar here.... and I love the Greek Myth references....
Helios was a supporter of Apollos, and his Chariot of fire being pulled by Helios in lore.... obviously Helios should be fire/flare/solar themed....
What if Helios was used as many DPS have wanted a BLM to be used as.... to elementally enhance the DPS...
Like Vivi/Steiner dynamic in FF9....
Helios could ideally buff up an ARCHER (Apollo).... by adding elemental burn type damage to his arrows....
Helios could buff up a DRG's Spear....... maybe adding burn damage to his spear
Helios could buff up a MNK's weapons as well.....
So what i am basically saying is... rather than creating an elemental aspect to damage in the game, which unfortunately is missing.... maybe Helios could AOE a buff to all party members to help out the melee dps by adding a "Burn" type element to their attacks that could stack for 30 seconds with each attack
Ability 2 could be used to buff up the mage's INT.... yes an INT buff.. which will help the BLM's raw ability, could increase a SMN's pet ability, could even buff up Helios's own physical damage
Ability 3 could be like shadowflare in a way, creating a red bubble (there isnt a red one yet), that will help increase the tanks physical/magic resistance

CC = Crowd Control rather its to prevent yourself from getting hit or to prevent your enemy from doing anything so you can do crap to them like I will to you with this post. Since I pity you so hard right now I ain't even going to talk back to you with sarcasm mister smart mouth. Your Welcome. :<
Shields (Sacred Soil, Aldo, Resistance Buffs) have nothing to do with controlling your enemies. Just annoy them like you are annoying me. <3

GW2 Ranger has a mechanic like this. You can summon a Sun Spirit that has a chance to grant burning damage to the attacks of any allies within range. I always enjoyed running that in PvP.
In general I like the idea of having a new fairy... male fairy specifically :P And although some might think it not appropriate, I would LOVE to have an offensive fairy. As in a fairy that actually uses attacks outside of having Embrace. Most of us know that being a healer doesn't mean we don't dps from time to time, and it'd be awesome to have a pet that helps with this.

I'd like a fairy that had a skill-set similar to this, assuming it was Helios (fire based stuff).
Embrace: Obvious.
Enfire: Adds additional damage to all auto attacks of party members. 30 second duration, 60 second cooldown.
Firewall: Creates a wall of fire surrounding the entire party that absorbs incoming damage. (The shield will absorb damage equal to 25% of the scholar's HP for every party member. So if the scholar has 4k hp, everybody gets a 1k stoneskin effect) 60 second duration or until enough damage is sustained to remove the effect, 15 second cooldown, 3.5 second cast.
Supernova: The fairy explodes (Dies), dealing magic damage with a potency of 200 to all nearby foes and adds a DoT effect with a potency of 50 for 18 seconds. Puts a debuff on the scholar for 10 seconds that prevents them from summoning another pet.
And, if Supernova doesn't work as the fairy's big cooldown, then:
Phoenix Flame: Instantly raises target player and restores them to 50% of their max MP and HP. No weakness effect. 180 second recast.
