If i remember correctly yoshi said if the player base came up with some good ideas they would look into it
so hoping more people post their ideas and it would be awesome to have a contest monthly in the gold saucer.

Would kill for Triple Triad.
any (remixed triple triad/ tetra master , etc. ) PvP collectable card game would be awesome, also those cards could have usage like in FFVIII. You can convert x amount of card type to gain some craft material, etc.![]()
The only problem i can see with this is currently obtaining materials is easy the market is pretty flooded
with most things though i do agree with the idea someone posted earlier to be able to spiritbind cards
for materia as each card could have 4 materia added to them that's a lot of materia per person for
a deck of 100 cards.
You thought of a great variation to the Triple Triad game of FFVIII (my fav FF minigame of all time) and some very interesting ways to implement card collection and incorporating jobs/materia to the cards. I really like this idea! The only thing this needs is some way to either take/destroy a card from the opposing player's deck upon losing for a few reasons.
1) To encourage sales in the economy. If there is no way to lose a card you have achieved/received, then the market will just stagnate after a period of time.
2) To add a sense of danger to the game.
3) To intensify each duel with the added sense of danger.
Now, I'm thinking ahead here so bear with me...
I really like your ideas. I think a good way to implement what I'm talking about is to add Tier's to the cards similar to Magic's Uncommon, Common, Rare etc. Make your fodder cards Tier 3 (for instance). These cards could only have a class applied to them which equates to minor buffs. Make your mid-range cards Tier 2's which could have a class/1 materia applied to it (moderate boost). Make your powerful cards Tier 1 which could have the Job/2 materia slotted (very large boost) but regulate the deck so the random 20 could only ever have two of those cards in it at one time. Make all these cards Tradable/Destroyable/Winnable/Sellable to influence the economy and add something to spark.
Then have Tier EX, for special cards that have set bonuses and can't be classified with a Job or have Materia applied. Rare drops from, let's say Demon Wall or Acheron. These cards could do a multitude of things. Demon Wall adds plus 2 defense to all player's cards on the board plus its initial stats, for instance. Special things like that. Make it to where you can also only have one of these cards spawn in a random group of 20. However, make these cards at the very least non-destroyable/non-winnable. You should have to farm to get the best of the best, and you should not be allowed to have 2 of this same type of card in your deck of 100. I'm torn as to whether or not these should be available for sale. It could be a great way to influence the market, but then we would also have players flooded with the cards that have Gil. These "special" Tier EX cards I'm thinking alon the lines of a 1st Edition Holographic Charizard type rarity in comparison. You shouldn't have to worry that every Duel you get into, someone will have one of these. But it will give a reason to the dedicated to form a deck with a ton of options. I lean towards making this Tier of cards Unique/Untradable as well.
What do you think?

I think the tier system is a great idea and giving boss cards special ability's is awesome as well.
this could lead to card types like titan with 3 different versions and 3 different special ability's
like titan story mode card does landslide and removes one card in any direction from field of play.
Titan hm could do wol on all 4 corners of the field removing all cards in those squares from play.
Titan ex could do bombs around the outside of the field removing all cards from play.
The options with each boss are endless and would make the game a lot more tactical.
I don't know anything about computer game programming so i have no idea how much work
it would take to implement something on this scale do you guys think it would be possible?
It just seems a lot of work adding a special ability for every boss in the game.

Well they could let each player choose one card to put up as the prize at the start of the game orYou thought of a great variation to the Triple Triad game of FFVIII (my fav FF minigame of all time) and some very interesting ways to implement card collection and incorporating jobs/materia to the cards. they could even let you choose gil i guess i do think your right in regards there needs to be a way to
lose your cards though.

They could also add ability cards.
Cure 1 bring 1 card that was removed from play bk to the field in place of the cure card.
Cure 2 bring 2 cards back and so on.
Provoke could draw the attention of the card being played to that card so your card
remains on the field.
Fire could reduce the targets cards numbers by 1 for the rest of the game.
They could even let you use these cards as long as they are in your hand.

If they are going to put a card game in, I'd rather it just be Triple Triad.
Though I like the idea of using the soultrapper to make cards like you could use it to make monsters to play with in pankration in XI.
I would also be happy if they decided to add triple triad to 14 i loved that card game too
I really just want some kind of card game added so i figured i would put my idea forward
about it to try get people talking about.
