Why can't we have the ability to create accurate Parser?

If you PUG two DPS for Coil and cant clear Turn 4 are you going to just boot both PUGs?

If people don't know how to take in the information a parser provides then that's their problem, and if they kicked you then they did you a favor since it's a bad group.

Valid reasons for vote dismiss: AFK, Offline, Harrassment, Cheating. Nowhere in this list do I see an option for "was wasting my time by being a bad/inexperience/undergeared player", and yet I'd guess this is the PRIMARY use people find for this feature. It's very sad to see that folks take it for granted that this tool will be used this way, and even approve of it, when it is neither the intended use for this tool nor even permissable (using it this way is harrassment, and is reportable).

I don't know where I stand on the parser argument, but the opinions of anyone that suggests parsers be used to choose who to vote-kick has should not be given any consideration, as they are abusive players.

Players being undergeared/inexperienced might end up wasting the teams time, but it's not harassment, as it's not intentional. They're trying their best to clear the content just like the rest of the team.

And no, you cannot expect everyone to watch videos on and overgear all content before attempting it. That may be some people standards, but it's not a requirement to play the game, nor does it automatically mean those that choose to do otherwise are automatically harassing the team. They're just playing the game in the way they believe it's intended to be played.

This - It's not harassment, it's usually the people who rail on undergeared/new players doing the harassing and can be reported for such.

There is no reason we shouldn't have completely accurate parsers.
I can't believe all the people jumping on here to say we shouldn't allow parsers.

I play the game to min / max and always try to improve. I find damage parsers useful. I don't use them to be a jerk or boost my ego

If people only use the parse for themself and only to improve himself i would be more in favor of having a more accurate parse but since people will use it to check other people performance/dps/hps that why i'm against. Is like letting other people test me or something and that is something I wont allow on a game. If you dont like how I do or w/e ask me and i could share what i do and if the party want me out i will leave.

Parser are nice when they are used for personal info.
Parser are bad when you start kicking, banning people from playing content, and harassing because they don't do XXX DMG or heal XXX HP or what ever issue you come up with for disqualify playing with said person.
And because there is a segment of players that this is how it will end up being used.

How is the fact that it's against the TOS to use a 3rd party (anything) parser off topic? My post was explaining why it's against the TOS and why parsers wouldn't be needed as much in the first place if there weren't enrages and dps races in fights.

You're asking why they aren't allowing you/others to make a better parser; it's because it isn't allowed per TOS.

how about its impossible to play this game with out using 3rd party anything... your mouse drivers is 3rd party software your keyboard drivers are 3rd party software, video drivers, hell windows is 3rd party software. Some 3rd party software is allowed. Its automation and hack 3rd party software thats not allowed.

Wrong. DF is for people who don't have a lot of time to devote and want to get a quick dungeon in.

When I roll in as a tank, I'm expected to know my class, know how to keep threat, know every boss, know where to lead people, know where to position mobs/bosses, and know when to interrupt/stun things. Failing ANY of these, I would get vote kicked, harassed, and bullied WITHOUT THE USE OF A PARSER.

Why is it then the moment a damage class is in question as to whether or not they're playing their class correctly, it's this giant problem?

If you get vote kicked, harassed or bullied for not being a perfect tank, that is an abuse and you should report it and bring SE's ban hammer down on the jerk. What you shouldn't be doing is wishing you had a tool to help you do the same to others.

It shouldn't matter. If you wipe, everyone in the party needs to try harder. No parser is necessary.
