Why can't we have the ability to create accurate Parser?

I honestly don't understand the logic behind this. People are not going to stop using parsers, nor will it ever be anything more than a tool. It is very useful and many of us love it.

Forget the negativity that comes with it, I'm tired of hearing "I hate parsers". Will it is not going to stop anyone from using it.

PvP already have an accurate parser and SE does have one which they use internally. So why not allow us to at least create an accurate one?

Before you start typing X reasons for not wanting SE to fix their intentionally broken battle logs, think about what I said, it is not going to stop players from using it, it is a very handy tool.

    I disagree.

There are 7 other people in your raid progression party. Parsers were "a very handy tool" when you had 39 other people in your raid progression party.

I think most of their decisions when making the game stem from what they observed 'other' MMOs problems are. In 'other' MMOs people can misuse parsers/meters a judge a player. I believe it's things that this that SE are trying to combat. It's the same with the ilevel info. They didn't have an average item level at launch because they probably didn't want to create another 'gearscore' type situation. It seems in the end they realised their folly and implemented on in 2.1. Perhaps they could allow you to parse only your own details. If I was a damage dealer i'd like to know if I've improved or not and not just rely on a feeling.

TL;DR: parsers are good but can/will be misused. SE should leave it to the community.

Oh btw SE has banned players for admitting the use of a Parser, since it is against the TOS.

To the best of my knowledge SE cannot detect that you are using one, but if you come forth and say you do use one, they can, and probably will ban you.

Which is a reason why I don't use any kind of Parser, too much time spent on building my Character to afford a ban.

Also check out this Reddit post, be very careful when you are talking about Parser.

I'm curious what you mean by broken battle logs, it displays all damage recieved, taken and when you evade or block attacks, The only damage not shown in chatlogs is DoT damage, and this is the only reason they might be inaccurate (I haven't used on personally). I personally don't want to see my battle log spammed with DoT damage.

According to reddit, a lot of updates on parsers are showing last enemy spawn time, and where they spawned. This is more than being just a 'tool', it's cheating. Especially when used in PVP. I fully support them not allowing 3rd party parsers for this reason.

I'd be all for them making their own add on though. It's just rough to not be critical on individual member DPS when so many bosses have DPS race moments. If there was no such thing as enrage or heart/gaol instant death I'd see no reason for them to even exist.

Either way, I'm cool with what SE decides on this matter. And I'll never use one until they give the okay.

I don't understand, how is it any less of a tool when there are fewer people in your raid?

I would love for Square to add their own parser to the game. As a tank its very easy to know if I'm doing my job well or not, but when playing a dps its all just guess work now without a parser.

Because it is not that hard to use your own two eyes to see if someone is being gimp or not.

Wasn't it because that player was using a parser to greef the other player without it and was demanding him to use one..?

How is this even a logical response? You're right, you can usually see how gimp someone is with your own two eyes. You can also equip an ilvl 90 weapon and know that you're doing more DPS than you did with your ilvl 80 one. Do you know EXACTLY how much though? Are you going to glue your eyes to the log and write down each point of damage on your napkin and break it down after 5 turns of coil?

Didn't think so. Don't post just to hear yourself talk...
