error with ffxiv config

after buying a new moniter i tryed changing my screen resolution then hit apply only to have the message an error has occured and ffxiv config must close and now every time i go to change the screen res it says the same thing what should i do to fix this or is their a way in game to change video options

Go to (system drive):\Users\(username)\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\ and delete the config.sys (don't forget to make a backup) and try again.

Go to font setting --> click on use windows system font --> put any font ---> save ---> take off "use window system font" save ---> and then try again.
