The horned NPCs are called Padjal. I'm pretty sure that they're their own race.

so has Kan-E Senna special special rights? Because Northern Thanalan is not in the shroud. If I remember right, that was were the fight around the Calamity was fought

No Vierras, no please no no no no. Not another race that seems to fill fetishes. I love love LOVE Miqotes, but they are getting overly kinkified ingame. Without giving any legit options on acting on it. (Oh come on, I too want to make gil as curtisan, or pay gil to be with that cutie)
I think Vierras are on a different "pane" than Eorzea. Beastrtribe, just doesnt feel right, considering we are at war with most of them. Playable Goblin? That would make some fates weird. UNLESS we start making Fraktions, Beastmen versus rest, with the option of being friendly or hostile towards smoothskins.
The only plausible races in this world are those of what Kan-E Senna and co are, and Garlemands.

New race, would make this btw very very WoWish. Even in WoW people sneered at Draenei, Bloodelf, Worgen and Pandaren, even though all of them were and are deep lore.

It'd be a style of Gria (Draconian) if anything, you know, considering the whole Dragon theme of Ishgard. If it's Viera then well, he may as well relaunch XIV a 3rd time and make it take place in Ivalice.

Also no, Padjal aren't their own race as any of the races can become blessed by elementals.

Something like this is what I want for a draconian race though I wouldn't mind a fiercer image. I imagine the wings would give armor designers clipping nightmares, though.


However, SE would have to be somewhat creative with their story lore to fit them in. I guess a "subjugated" species of the true dragons (Ishgard's enemies) could may be...passable.

No more animal or child races, I think the 10 year old looking character should be purged into oblivion ... its weird to see 40 year old men playing them, in the real world that's a jail sentence.
