FC Leader has gone

Hey, our fc leader had left the game but not deleted the character. Even though I am second in command I don't have all the abilities an fc leader has. The problem is we are very close to having the funds to buy our company house but once the time comes we won't have the power to buy one. We don't want to switch to another fc because of all the hard work we have all put into this one, and we can not start a new one because all of our Gil is in the company chest with the deposit restricted

SE have said in previous posts that something would be sorted by 2.1 but a gm told me the other day there is nothing they can do.

So the question I have is..... Can we find another way to sort this or has our hard work, time and Gil been wasted when se should realy have something in place for this.

Our FC are almost in the same position. My advice is to wait a bit longer to see if SE adds any new features to help you out. One person should not have control over everyone's gil because of situations like this.

This is very unfortunate. This is actually happening a lot. The problem with someone else having access is...who gets it if the leader doesn't come back? How would they choose whom to give the rights to? How can the FC vote to put someone in that position within the game? Could it be abused? I'm all for some kind of fix because that's a crap load of Gil and maybe items that will burn if something is not done, and that's not cool. For now pray he logs back on and gives someone else the permissions.

Sadly I know he isn't coming back. But thankfully I would be happy if they introduced a voting system or something as I know all the guys will put me in as I have recruited them all and been their support through all their lvling. I would just start another 1 if it wasn't for the rank 8 and the few million gil In the chest. I'm just confused as they said they would have something in place with 2.1. I feel bad for all the other guys they have worked so hard.

My advice is to wait a bit longer to see if SE adds any new features to help you out. One person should not have control over everyone's gil because of situations like this.

It's not 1 person having control, it's the one person that owns the FC so all the FC gil belongs to the FC owner. Plain and simple, so that's why you will never get help for this, the gil isn't yours, it belongs to the one who quit. If you give your gil to a FC, it's no longer your gil. It's time to either try to contact the owner outside of the game (as 2nd in command, you should have his RL phone number or at the very least his email address) or just take this as a lesson and don't contribute your gil to a FC that isn't 100% yours (which is why the FC I belong to doesn't allow members to contribute gil, cause then members start thinking it's their FC and their collective gil, which it isn't. We are just members of the free company, free to come and go as we please.)

But it's not just about the Gil. If you don't treat yourself as part of the fc then u should just go join the largest 1 u can find and be done with it. I have been there from the beginning and put money towards founding it so yes I would like to think it's partly mine. This isn't a matter of getting our Gil back it's a matter of letting the fc carry on and do the stuff we have all worked so hard to achieve. We want the Gil to stay in the chest and eventually buy our house when we have saved enough.

It was previously mentioned that after 2.1 we'd add the ability to transfer leadership to another member of your free company if the company master was gone for too long. We have more details to share with you now.

If a free company master has not logged in for 35 days, the leadership will automatically be transferred to the member who fulfills the below criteria:

• Has logged in within the past 7 days
• The highest ranking member in the free company hierarchy
• Earliest member to join the free company

Once the leadership has been transferred to a member, the old master will become a “member.”
This option is currently scheduled for implementation in patch 2.2 for anyone who would like to take advantage.

How do you know he is not coming back? It seems like they have the situation about to be handled but it's gonna take a little bit... I'm kinda worried about option 3 (Earliest member to join the free company) You may be 2nd in command and not have been one of the early members so that's kind of a draw back IMO...

If he comes back... wait for it... wait for it... you can transfer leadership back! Amazing, I know.
