Dialogue text is WAY too small

There's a config file called Addon.dat in the folder that contains all of your character's combat logs and stuff (it's in your My Documents >> My Games >> Final Fantasy 14 folder) that contains the size and positions of the UI windows. It's basically just a text file so you can open it in Notepad and make any of the UI windows any size you like, even if they don't show up in the HUD Layout menu.

If I had to guess, that NPC chat/event window is the one called "Talk_a". Close the game, open up the file in Notepad and press Ctrl+F to find "Talk_a". Once you find it, change "f:1.00000" to "f:1.5". Save the file, open up the game, and that window should be 150% size.

I imagine this change is probably reverted if you open the HUD Layout menu, but it's an okay workaround until they finish adding proper sliders for UI scaling.

Obviously this only works for PC, on PS3 you're out of luck.
