    Improve Dragoon DPS. WEAK in comparison to other DPS

    I feel DRGs are handicapped! Dragoons should have more STR or DMG for SINGLE TARGETS. In a party of 4 (Whm,Tank,2DPS) if both DPS are DRGs, the dungeon will take much longer!
    VS
    A party where the DPS are 2BLM, 2ARC, or 2MNK! In Dungeons, I find myself relying on the BRD or BLM to tackle adds WITH me because they have the advantage of DISTANCED attacks AND HIT ALOT HARDER in a shorter time where it takes me a full rotation to equal their output!
    AND, I can only buff my attacks with B4B & LS once every 3 or 4 Full Rotations!
    So my Solution is to have the Dev Team look into:
    1- Shortening the GCD for DRGs,
    2- Increasing the Base STR and ACC or even the CRIT stats,
    3- Increasing the Damage Output for Each ability, (True Thrust, Vorpal Thrust, Full Thrust, Impulse Drive, Disembowel, Chaos Thrust, etc.)
    4- Decreasing the GCD for Blood for Blood and Life Surge
    or
    5- Making the Debuffs for Disembowel and Chaos Thrust, interact with the DRG attacks in a more potent way.

    I totally agree. Disembowel should be a 20% pierce resist debuff and Heavy Thrust should give a buff like Greased Lightning with 15% haste as well as its current 15% damage.

    That would balance Dragoons.

    Err, since when does DRG not do enough single-target DPS?

    I feel like either this isn't fully explained or that the problem isn't the job.

    It sounds to me like you've only been grouping with bad Dragoons.

    I've also done dungeons with 2 Monks from the Duty Finder and the bosses took forever to die. Should I judge the Monk class as a whole because of them?

    My only suggestion to you is to play a Lv50 Dragoon yourself and find out. Either way, you'll eventually come across a competent Dragoon one day.

    Get your relic zenith and work on your rotation and you'll see better results.

    DRG's only disadvantage over MNK is if a positional ability fails the whole combo is screwed. Other than that if you're executing well their damage is just fine.

    thats not the only disadvantage, drg is more of a job thats about sprinting, rack up high numbers fast, producing good results throughout the battle, mnk on the otherhand is about the long fights.....their dps only get higher the longer the fights go, till they hit their pinnacle

    but i do agree with some of these posts, sounds like the drgs your speaking of just need to learn how to play their jobs or get better gear (gear is bigger than people believe, especially the weapon) and rotation is another big one
    a good drg with similar gear should be within 20% damage of a good mnk, ie if the mnk is hitting around 270, the drg should be pushing about 240-250 dps, but thats just an estimate and assumes a long boss fight
