    I'd LOVE if we had a caster tank like Red or Blue Mage. In the first case, you could use defensive spells like Blink, Phalanx, etc. And in the second, you could use Cocoon, Metallic Body, etc. (true there are no mobs in the game with those abilities currently but that needn't limit SE from doing something like this - give BLU those abilities anyway or just make new mobs with those abilities).

    RDM/BLU could cross-class Protect, Cure, Stoneskin etc. RDM could also have a few enfeebles (Dia, Paralyze, etc.) and other misc. enhancements (En-spells, Refresh). I'm not sure what direction you'd want to take BLU with this game though. But the possibilities are exciting. All I know is I've put everything into leveling and gearing WAR but I'd trade all that for the chance to tank w/ RDM (maybe BLU).

    Back to the whole Samurai thing though. I hope they're DPS. If SE ever adds Ninja, I think they should make them an evasion tank like in FFXI, although they'll most likely make them DPS. At least either would make sense. I just don't buy the idea of Samurai as a tank. It doesn't feel right to me.

    I already know this. It doesn't change the fact that people ENJOYED playing NIN tanks and FFXIV is for the players after all. So I could see SE putting NIN in a DPS role: a lot of players expect this and for some it would be desirable, it's what they intended in FFXI originally, and it thematically makes sense OR a tank role: a lot of players might still enjoy this, it's what NIN ended up being in FFXI, and it might encourage more people to play tanks. So I agree that NIN will probably be a DPS but it would be understandable and totally unsurprising if they made it a tank class. I personally am 50-50 on it. I enjoyed NIN tanking in FFXI but I doubt it would work much like it did in FFXI and who knows if it would still be fun to tank on NIN if they changed it too much?

    Your tank stance could just as well confer immunity to interruption, you know. That's assuming you don't just give it instant spells instead. Regardless, it would free you from the need for THM as one of your cross-class jobs, leaving you to do GLA and something else.

    Blue Mage could be a tank depending on how it's implemented, but Mystic Knight makes the most sense for a magic-oriented tank. You already have sword, armor, and spells for use at close range.

    Both unlikely. Ninjas were never supposed to be tanks; they ended up that way due to gimpy balance and were only eventually given enmity boosts because of how the players had adopted the job. Evasion tanks also don't work in ARR, which relies heavily on spikes to pressure tanks.

    Armor is arbitrary. They can make tanking equivalent Leather, robes etc. Saying that they should make another heavy armor type is kind of missing the point when people ask for visual variety, right now if you tank or heal you have the least options for visual choices while DPS has unique stuff for almost every class(except caster) on every tier.

    They probably could have a sort of move like shield oath or defiance that could increase their enmity and prevents them from being interrupted when its on.
