Looting system - can we see lots before drop?

I dont get what does this have to do with the thread.

Weither it is a lvl 15 drop, future Allagan 2 or whatever, if people see what you rolled its an open room for griefing.

I am not saying they need to see what you rolled. Why would they need to?

With the current system it's impossible to do anything about it, even if a person who agreed not to lot ends up lotting or only greeding instead of needing because you can't kick people anymore. So showing who lotted on what doesn't do anyhing to fix the problem.

There are three methods to prevent this or at least do something about it:
1=In Duty Finder Create an option which says "Greed Only" meaning with this up you'll be grouped with others who are agreeing to Greed only so that all loot is free for all.

2=In the part list allow a ldr to change loot distribution based on what they agree on (for premade parties but the ability to change loot distribution would not be allowed during dungeons/trials, a notification would be made when loot distribution was changed, and the party would be able to see what the current loot distribution is to prevent any hassles/trolling)

3=For Tanks and Healers, give them an option to pick another class/job they have at 50 as "Need" (this would help the shortage of tank/healers since ones who may roll it won't roll if they have the loot they alrdy needed for those classes and now want for another job)

Add a status to the Party Information tab. Would look like this:
"Loot: Need enabled/disabled"

Status locks upon entering an instance.
Within an instance, Status may only be unlocked with a unanimous vote.

Good idea, but DF randomly changes the party leader when you enter (and only changes it back when you exit)... I have played other games where loot changes were allowed, though there was also a lot of "CHANGE LOOT NAO QQ" present.. a vote for greed only bit would be nice, but not sure if SE would implement such :|

I remember there was something like different loot systems on DCUO the leader could set for his premade.

iirc there was:
-The classic Need over greed
-Greed for all
-Loot master. Which allows the leader of the group to distribute the loot to party members without having to roll. No need to mention this would only work in groups such as Coil statics when you trust everyone in your party.

It's not the role of the game to enforce player agreements. NBG is a baseline. There is no system to get rid of players lying. Overly complex systems are ripe for abuse by leaders.

To much to read. But I thought SE just fixed it so Vote Kick couldn't be issued while loot was in the pool. So if we cant kick players while loot is up I don't see why they couldn't show us what other players lot before it drops.\

Found it 2.15 patch notes.
"To prevent abuse of Vote Dismiss when casting lots on items, the Vote Dismiss function can no longer be used when an item is in the loot pool."


So to all the people saying that it would be abused sorry the problem is fixed so there can be no abuse.

As i said and as ive been part of today, they can abuse it afterwards especially in content dropping multiple stuff like CT or coil ( as a whole if you plan to do all turns in 1 go )
Loot drops > ppl rolling > loot roll displayed > someone isnt pleased with who rolled what and wait until drops are distributed> loot is distributed > Vote kick.

I agree with OP. They could also though allow a system where you pick 1 job before you enter to need on. I know for tanks and healers at least this would be nice since your usually stuck on those jobs. Would probably give more people incentive to play those roles as well.

Then find another group? Not seeing how that is abuse. If someone doesn't want you in the party after the loot has dropped sucks. Not like you are losing anything but maybe time if you cant go into the next turn in CoB.

I wish they did show what others rolled. I went to Garuda EX and it was a greed party, Aiming dropped and the BRD rolled need on it and he said he was there for healing sucked cause if we could see cast maybe they could have got him to leave the party.
